Radical new concept.. countrys & squads
« on: February 21, 2000, 10:49:00 PM »
Here's an idea.. allow each account holder two ID's. Only one can log on at a time.

Why?? Well lets say yer in one of these organised squads and want to fly as a group once or twice a week. The rest of the time you fly as a single with a pal or squaddie for your country. Most nights yah log on yer all alone...

Since we have a gazillion squads and only three countries what we have is mayhem most nights.. occasionaly a squad op will rally one country or another to a task; but for the most part; disorgainsed unsatisfying aggravating confusion reigns in the three country arena.

Cure: A combined National Wing. With multiple log-ins for an account holder he can be both in the SQUAD of his choice on  squad night; and still fly with his National Wing the rest of the time. Two seperate identites for the single account holder. all the advantages of squad coms and highlights for either a WING member or a SQUAD member.

Proposal: The 1st Bish Combined Attack Wing (1stBCAW) comprised of all squads or singletons that fly bishop. If yah fly bish; yah join this squad. Same for rooks and knits.. (1stRCAW & 1stKCAW) This way; a country can assign a general set of priorites; assign and fly regular caps and barcaps via bbs; organise attacks; react faster to incursions... and county members still retain 'squad' identities and flying prefrences. WING lead assignments could be handled nightly via roster for those interested in bein CAG fer a night.

Another advantage.. you wanna give 'scorecard flying' a break and help yer pals in rookland get that field.. well; log off with yer scorcard/squad persona; relog with your country persona and do yer pals proud.   Assigned via BBS to c47 escort duty?? Don't wanna wreck that 22 kill streak? Well; relog and do the job.

Relative squad scores would also suddenly reflect real squad successes.. not totals from a gazillion singleton missions added to squad scores..

Financially; this would not detract from HTC.. only one accountholder persona can be on line at a time. In fact this may attract new customers.. who else does this for their customers?

Whatcha all think?

I don't think they would go for it. The multiple arenas with change handle function allows this well enough, and I think the disorganized nature of the 3 country setup keeps some issues with framerate at bay.

Large bomber boxes, for better or worse, kill the AH Framerate. By keeping organized bomb raids to 3-5 buffs per raid, this effect is mitigated.

Sounds like a good idea.  This would also allow members of LW or Allied only squads to try other airplanes without feeling like a traitor.  (Let me guess, your two names would be Hangtime and Hairball.   BTW:  We all know you love that cat.   )

I need to start thinking of a new, all original handle.  Hmmm... bloom26, yeah, that's the ticket.   )

Hmmm.. doesn't the 'change handle' function mearly assign all the attributes from the previous handle to the new one? Like scores and squad affiliation?

Swagger a kill streak is what you get when you vulch a field you know more then one kill before impact with the ground.

Hiyas Hang

I think your idea sounds great, but a little too ambitious...its almost impossible some nights jus to get our fellow countrymen on the same page.

What we used to do in AWDOS was co-ordinate multiple sqd operations...each sqd had certain assignments regarding the mission....it was a hoot and always devastating to the enemy.

Jus a thought from a simple mind
