Getting new players

in another thread that I read a while ago they talked about making the WW1 arena free
I was thinking that I could take the Idea a little further
First I would like to see an FPS aspect added
The Americans would carry a thompson and a bazooka
The British would carry the M1 garand and 1911
The Germans would carry the STG 44 and a luger
The Russians would carry a Mosin Nagant
The Japanese would carry a Type 99
The Italians would carry a scoped Kar98
The Americans would be the most expensive (i.e. 8-10 perk points) followed by the British and Germans (about 4-6 perk points), the Italians (1-2 perk points), and the Japanese and Russian would be free
Fighting as a soldier, driving jeeps, flying C-47s/JU-52s (they really need to be added), and being a gunner,(as well as the whole WW1 arena) would be free
I would also make it so force ground battles like there need to be 50 troops into the maproom and at least 1 vehical within a halfmile of the maproom for a capture, because this game is so much more than arial combat now
would have 3 forms of members free members, basic members, and full members
free members can only do the things I have listed above and can't spend perk points
the basic members can't spend perk points but have full access to vehicals and planes(but more things would cost points) at a cost of about $5 a month
full members would have complete access to the game just like now at $15
My phylosophy behind this is that claiming this is an arial simulator can be a bit intimidating, as well as the high cost, scares away players that would otherwise enjoy driving tanks and being a soldier

the ww1 arena is not going to be free anytime in  the near future.  however, ground war using soldiers is being planed for the future, look for it in about 2 weeks.

Their not going to make WWI free. We have the furball lake in the DA for years now and that's not free, WWI is the same thing.

Not sure, but I think he just doesn't know the main weapons used by some of the other nationalities,


USA would get the Garand, the Thompson, and the M1911
Brits would get the Lee Enfield, and the Sten (not sure about their sidearms)
Germans would get the K98, Mp40, and a Luger
Russians would get the Nagant, the PPSh-41, and the Tokarev TT-30
Japanese would carry an Type 99, Type 100/44, and a Nambu pistol
Italians would carry a Carrcano Mod 91/38, Beretta Model 38, and a Beretta M 1935


Bazookas are a bad idea. Infintry would be almost impossible to see in AH, and would essentially end all tank operations.

But past that, -1. Not right now anyway, and would do better to keep thing simple at first, and add on later.

Not likely going to happen any time soon, biggest problem is HTC is under staffed for such an expansion of this, second of all the graphics don't go well with a FPS.

The simulation is intimidating, however there are plenty of trainers available to teach - most get frustrated and don't seek veteran players out for help, most like me are more then willing - this is why we have squads - some have trainers within the squads.

My biggest problem with it being a FPS, there are a ton that are far better - Battlefield 3 I think? or Call of duty? Any case these are much better suited for "Arcade" mode, while Aces High continues to thrive as a Simulator.

I rather not Aces High turn "mainstream" - rather focus more on Tanks and Aircraft - the more that can be pumped out the more options available.
