I have a dual 6850 set up with Windows7 on an i7 CPU.  I've recently figured out how to run my HDMI cable to the TV for Blue rays and NetFlix.

I think I can run 2 DVI's to seperate monitors, at least the manual for the cards says that I can, even if I have to disconnect the HDMI cable while I do it (no big deal for me).

If I get my 2nd monitor that's just sitting in the closet plugged in and running, what I want to know is that if anyone who plays AH2 has had it set up like I want - My main monitor in front of my controlling the game while I fly, with the 2nd monitor running firefox, so I can screw around while I'm bored climbing for altitude or cruising/etc.  Is this even possible?  Do you just alt-tab back and forth between monitors?  How does the mouse work if you do that?  HELLP!!

-Thanks in advance

I have two monitors. While AH is active, it's the only thing you can control. When you Alt-Tab out, it goes into the background and you can control another app. When you Alt-Tab back to AH, you once again can only control AH. I've put up a text file, spreadsheet or web page on my second monitor to use as reference while I'm in-game, but cannot go back to them without minimizing AH first.

 Gman,

simple answer,YES!  there are 2 ways you can setup the dual monitors, clone or extended desktop. There are pros and cons to either setup and you'll have to try both to see which you prefer.

If I understand you correct the extended desktop would likely be what you're looking for, have the game running on 1 monitor and surf the web with the other. You can sometimes loose the mouse with this setup but I think it's a matter of getting used to working with dual monitors.

I have an old 8800GTS and run dual monitors, presently set to clone.

   hope that helps!

I have 2 monitors set up in extended. I CAN NOT use the second one when playing the game as the mouse pointer will not leave the monitor the game is running on.

Can you do it in clone mode Morf?

The way I understand it, AH runs in fullscreen mode - not windowed mode. Only the main splash screen is in windowed mode. Once you're in the game, you cannot interact with whatever you have on the other monitor.

Fugi,

In clone it's just as if you have 1 monitor so you still have to window out of game.

When I had extended I'm sure I could use the mouse while the game was running but that might have been before the cursor disappeared when the clipboard map isnt open.

Have you tried that? open clipboard to get cursor in game then move to other screen.

I rarely use the dual setup, trying to keep electricity cost down... :o

My dual monitors are set to extend the desktop. Most times I don't have anything else in the other monitor. When I fly, I almost always have the clipboard open (smaller and in the corner for reference). I've never had the mouse leave the game and show up in the other monitor.

I think some of these guys are.. or running 2 machines.. Like when you kill them in a gv.. then 30 seconds later they are back, and spawn in with their gun on you. Must be reviewing the film to see exactly where you were... sound familiar?

:rofl you can't run the film viewer while the game is running, and do you really believe you can load a film, review it, and spawn in in less than 30 seconds? id like to see you just open a film and review it within 30 seconds.

You can, however, fly with joystick (no mouse) on one monitor while using another application on the other monitor. Not sure how to invoke this deliberately, but happened a couple times when I "window keyed" out of AH and it popped right back up, sans mouse.

Must be possible, somehow . . . .

I have two comps and one monitor. It's a bit dangerous but I often surf on the other computer while flying. That is off course when I was playing. I'll be back some day hopefully.
