Those pics are amazing!

I think you're referring to Gunther Lutzow, who served as Geschwaderkommodore of JG3 from August 1940 to August 1942.

Thanks for sharing your grandfather's photos, SirFrancis!   :salute

yep, thats Lützow. But there some other wellknown pilots to be seen in the pictures:

Here you see Gollob (in the middle) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Gollob)
Galland (to the left) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Galland) and Lützow to the right (link was posted before)

Here you see Generalfeldmarschall Bock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedor_von_Bock)

Here on the right side is Dahl (leftLützow, middel Gollob) (link Dahl -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walther_Dahl)

Next one is Oesau (middle). To the right Lützow and to the left General Ritter von. Greim.  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Oesau)

Regards
Ike

ps. regarding last picture. The man on the left is Robert Ritter von Greim. I didn´t knew whos is was. But after posting this pictures I found  some info about him. Seems he have been the last head of the Luftwaffe appointed by Adolf to replace Hermann Göring. I didn´t kew my grandfather met such "importand" people....

I honestly dont see the point in modeling this plane. I predict after the first month is will be Queen of the hangar Queens.

Much rather of scene Iron Annie instead of a "spotting plane". Who is really going to bother spotting in Aces High? And arent there better options then an airplane with poorer then WW1 performance?
