Any "Old School" Pilots/Squads out there up for a challenge?
« on: January 22, 2012, 02:10:54 PM »

Tonight starting at 7:30 Eastern we are flying two back-to-back missions as the start of our next campaign which has the 9th Air Force facing the Luftwaffe in the closing months of WWII. This is old school "Mark One Eyeball" flying no AWACS style radar, eyes need to be out of the cockpit, not watching the map.

Both the Americans and Germans could use a couple more pilots.  If you're interested in realistic flying in a mission orientated, historically based campaign, please join us for some fun.

^   That Sounds great. If this is the case then its safe to assume  NO icons either side will be enabled?

No radar, no bardar, enemy icons set at 1.5k, friendly at 2k.  That's about as radical as I dared go to start with.

Axis (Defense): 3 fighters shot down = 15 pts

Frame #1b:
Axis (Offense): 2% factory damage + 5 fighters shot down = 29 pts
Allied (Defense): 1 fighters shot down = 5 pts

Allied Total = 37 pts

Bandit... I had a Blast!
It was my pleasure to fly wing with you, as well as everyone involved. The communication and leadership was outstanding.
It was a very immersing. I thoroughly enjoyed the "Old School" settings and the very short ranges. I only wish I had filmed it.

You guys run a quality event.
Thank you for the fun

The Top Gun squad is joining the campaign this Sunday and according to DrBone they will have enough guys for the whole Luftwaffe side.  So we are in a situation where we have more guys than the custom arenas will allow.  I'm going to speak to the Avengers about starting up a second campaign on a different night so we can fit everyone in.
