Ability to block out names in the film viewer

I wish that there was a check box in the film viewer that changed the other pilots' names to something generic.

I occaisionally have a fight in the MA that I would like to post in the Training Forum for others to critique and comment on.  But I don't want to expose the other pilot to the same criticism without permission.  Sometimes I remember to ask the other guy, but more often then not I don't remember and would rather just have the option of blocking his name out of the film.

Aside from the wishlist request, I don't think you should worry about it. You're uploading it as a training tool. People will see it as such. People will use it as such. Just because you have a film with my name in it, say you shoot me down... Doesn't mean folks will jump on my back and insult me ad infinitum for being a crappy pilot.

You don't have to protect the innocent or anything. Just post it.

It wouldn't particularly bother me either if I was on the receiving end, but I can see it being an issue for some people.  I think it's a pretty reasonable request, but not a necessity.  +1

You could PM the pilot in the film and ask permission.

I agree with Krusty. I can see the need for being able to censor what people were saying in text or VOX (and I believe we do have that), I don't understand how being able to censor how someone flies (as in being able to hide the identity of who was flying what) would be that important. If someone wanted to jab me for something they saw me do in a film I'd just be like, "Yeah, I flubbed that, didn't I?"

I've had similar wishes in the past, ultimately I think as long as it's well intentioned and meant to instruct and not belittle then it's probably OK.  Or you can PM the players you're concerned about and ask first.

I think we've all be on the wrong end of the gun in someone's film here at one point or another.
