On the contrary, I think that for every troop you kill with a 45, you should be able to pick up their 45.  110 rounds of goodness   :rock
Amazing you could actually recruit that much suck into one squad.

I havn't really had any issue with the bailed pilot in the map room thing, it was rarely encountered ... BUT with the storch at the V bases, we are now getting guys who are bailing without ever taking off and strolling to the map room to thwart EVERY troop drop ... STRAFE THE MAP ROOM is becoming a regular reminder before looseing troops ... I doubt this is what HT had in mind.

I once ran with a smash n grab base taking gang.

It was S.O.P. to strafe the maproom on every mission.

If base takers have become so lackadaisical that they overlook the maproom strafe, then I am of the opinion that they don't deserve the take.

I say we don't mess with this new game feature.

What is this "Highly trained paratrooper" stuff?  I thought these were drunks pressed from the nearest pub?

There's to much GAMEY abuse as it is without adding to it (IMHO). I'd like to see Bails disabled below 1,000 ft AGL, or 800 or whatever is the limit on a chute opening. This would make the storch pilot get his plane UP and in action at least before bailing. I wouldn't deprive anyone of anything as those who bail below that alt will die anyway. If you want to get fancy throw up a text box that says "you are to low to bail out" it might even SAVE a pilots life under some circumstances.

Yes officer, the last thing I heard before everything went black was  "Airborne." Why do you suppose they duck taped me to this tree naked ?

If you're on the ground in a stopped ac or gv, why would you be "too low to bail out" when all you have to do is jump out?

My thoughts: -

The probability of success for a downed pilot defending against ten troops is pretty minimal. Maybe he could take out one or two but his colleagues would not spare any ammo in obliterating the pilot. I have often saved a base by bailing out and defending it against troops that way, but frankly it is becoming a bit too gamey. It was great fun, but it's too much now. The troops should/must be able to shoot back and take down the pilot somehow.
Here we are, living on top of a molten ball of rock, spinning around at a 1,000mph, orbiting a nuclear fireball and whizzing through space at half-a-million miles per hour. Most of us believe in super-beings which for some reason need to be praised for setting this up. This, apparently, is normal.

Just a thought but most of the base take missions I've seen involve over 25 ac. If they cant shot a few chutes then they don't deserve the take.
