another davidwales already? lets get rid of them
« on: January 29, 2012, 12:05:02 AM »
ACCUAL WISH:

a complete new thread: the "Idea Thread"
1)in order to even enter the idea thread you have to be a paying playing member of AH
2)you can only have 3 of your own threads on the front page at a time.
3)in order to make a post stating a wish/idea, there is a criteria witch you must fill out. such as basic information like
a)aircraft/GV specs.
b)did it ever see service (if not then it will not be made into a thread)
if those are not filled out then the thread will not be made. IE there will be a template needed.
4)if something has been wished for 2 times in the past month it cant be wished for again.

It should take care of the following problems
1)spamming
2)trolling (to an extent)
3)threads such as nukes and flying wings and all that other crap.
4)multiple threads

pros:
1)keeping a clean forum
2)its alot smarter then what we have now
3)legitamite ideas

cons:
0)????

1)in order to even enter the idea thread you have to be a paying playing member of AH
+1
2)you can only have 3 of your own threads on the front page at a time.
-1. Believe it or not sometimes people actually have multiple good ideas
3)in order to make a post stating a wish/idea, there is a criteria witch you must fill out. such as basic information like
a)aircraft/GV specs.
-1. If you really want to know something about the airplane ask for it. Most of the time when I read requests for new aircraft I don't really care about 90% of it's info, such as height for example.
b)did it ever see service (if not then it will not be made into a thread)
if those are not filled out then the thread will not be made. IE there will be a template needed.
I don't see how it can be enforced by a computer. The only way would be for HTC to check your thread because posting it and I would much rather have them spend that time on improvements to AH
4)if something has been wished for 2 times in the past month it cant be wished for again.
-1. If the person has a new reason to wish for something that has not been discussed before (even though the plane was) then there is no reason not to make a new thread for it.

The problem is that you let them bother you. I find them entertaining for the most part, and when I do tire of a particular poster I just quit reading their threads.

1) multiple ideas..ok..isnt 3 good enough?

2)it would be nice to have a full information OP rather then just " meteor. it was a jet. lets have it"

3)template, you have to find the aircraft specs, service years, production, saw combat?,and use

4)then bump the thread with the idea that you would like for it

they dont bother me. they can be fun somtimes. but its kinda like speeding, yeah people do it, but its not needed

I don't agree with your #2 OP. For example, i've been playing this game for years now, but and currently inactive cause of the military. i am going to return to the game and i still like to have my input on what could effect the game in the future.

there is alot of people in the same boat as me.

4)then bump the thread with the idea that you would like for it

1. Most of the time yes. But there is a small possibility when someone could have three good ideas on different topics in the same period of time. I just don't think this should be limited.

2. Yes it would, but most people could just copy and paste the specs section from wikipedia. That would not solve the problem.

3. Sometimes when your requesting a specific model of an aircraft it is hard to find those numbers, especially for non-US build aircraft.

4. If it's a completely different idea then it deserves a new thread. For example, let's say your requesting a an airplane because you know it will be used a lot in AH for whatever reason, but someone two weeks before that made a thread requesting the same aircraft because it's "cool". So that original thread probably got a few pages a flaming responses (like "we don't want another spit") and when you bump it with a good idea people will still be continuing the original discussion because your good idea will be berried somewhere in a crappy thread.

If you been here for a long time then yes. But if you downloaded the game for offline use two days ago and now posting "new" ideas in the wishlist section it really gets annoying. So how about when you make an account for online use (not a two week trial but an actual paid account) then your forum ID get's permission to post new ideas, when you stop paying online for what ever reason your posting privileges on the forum do not get revoked.
