I can run everything wide open except I have to leave shadows and texture sizes at 2048 or lower. When I do that I still see micro-freezes and stutters and I hate that so I have all this new bump-mapping and shadows off for now. Eventually everything will get ironed out. Im very patient.

I played today all day without getting disco'd once.  had everything on with shadows/smooth at 2048.  was an awesome day  :rock :rock :rock :rock.

Well , prob run the 1024 pac. Why this patch and not the other 2 are affecting  my game play. White screens, aceshigh.exe . Yeah  hopefully we'll repatch again, cause  opps. My jeep is getting old to make it all the way down to Texas, consider your  way. well and this game has made me fat , im considering that.

Same, but my computer's too stoneage to complain. I have just started getting out-of-VRAM errors after this patch, though.

You need to reduce anti-aliasing and/or reduce the view distance, to start with.  Next would be the shadow size.  If you are still getting that error, then kill the clutter.  Next, uncheck bump mapping options.

Send me a DXDIAG output if you want a more concise help list.

The only thing available there is to reduce view distance, otherwise I've never used any of those options. I just had to disable the advanced terrain features...so, as long as I fly right-side up so I can't see the nasty-looking ground or with my eyes closed, I'm fine. :P

I've got everything turned down to nothing and the frame rate is borderline playable and the sound cuts out every 3-10 minutes. Have to go back to desktop to get it to work again.

Not a good patch for me.  :cry

Good for the family, they see a lot more of me. I've gone from playing 10 hours a week to about 30 minutes total. I'm a little worried about the direction of this trend. :)

Mine was untiil this patch.  I was able to turn shadows down to 128 and disable everything and GV with only occasional freezes in frames.  Kinda sucks.

Yes.

Nobody taught you to shoot up the maproom before letting troops out?
Thought by this point it was pretty much standard procedure

Thought by this point it was pretty much standard procedure

The difference between one guy in the maproom and a swarm of guerrillas hiding everywhere is key. Especially when you have to fly inverted to have a chance to see he icon.

I thought the storch was gonna add some fun to the game. But I can see now that the first thing thats getting whacked at the VH is the storch hanger. Now "kill storch hanger" is added to the SOP of killing all ords at the nearest airfield.

I predict the storch is now useless.

I havent heard anybody yet say kill the storch hangar.  actually that would make it fun for fighters to leave it up and vulch the vh bases too.

That just leads us back to the biggest problem in the game , well second biggest behind HOs :p getting people to defend.

There are not many that defend any more. What's the point when you are out numbered 4 or 5 to 1? When was the last time you saw a squad up and defend a base?
