Is this game as bad as I think it is? Oh the graphics and damage model is nice but everything else? Im at a point where I cant even play it, and never felt like that with BC2.

What do you mean? FPS issues? Problems with gameplay?

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Key with everygame is to play with friends.  I can still play bf3 but I don't really have many hours in yet only 57 hours.  I used to play more AH a month than that.

Gameplay mostly. The flight model sucks, comms suck, I dont like how they setup squads, poor teamwork, no TrackIR. I was in a few clans with some super guys but they used comms for mostly BS sessions. Then I tried joining more serious clans and some act like they are riding the rock pipe. One bunch wanted me to send them a copy of my DD-214 :huh to prove my military service which ended before they were even born. :lol As if I would send this to total strangers over a silly computer game.

Then theres the cheats...which are rampant. I dont know, the game has become an overall letdown.

Every game will be like this.  Just play with some friends and maybe it will get better.

the flight model is for the every day joe-schmoe, not for someone who is used to having control over every little thing. I haven't flown, but I know this for fact. the squad system is kinda bad, but CoD has worst spawn points  :aok. I don't see a need for TrackIR, thats what the mouse is for.... isnt it? any gfame is going to have "clans" that use comms for BS sessions above all else, and a few clans that actually use them as designed. CoD:BO, the grid system on the mini map was for enhanced comms... played it every day for a year since its release and never ONCE heard the grid used by anyone. every FPS has its downs, but BF3 is much better then COD.......

Are cheats really a big thing in these games or just appear to be?

Not really, you may see one or two every 10 or 15 games, but it's as easy as either leaving the current server, or in a few minutes, if an admin is on, they'll get banned.

It's supposed to be arcade-dy, not a simulator. The general mass of gamers doesn't want to learn how to press this and that just to take off or to load a gun. I think someone here started an AH clan, but i may be wrong. If not, we can always start one right now.

I have pretty much quit playing. As the OP says, I just get bored with it. BFBC2 was better IMO.

I dont play console either, only PC. If anything TrackIR is even better for FPS games then flight games. It gives you a realistic FOV and allows you to pivot your head from your body. Without it you only have your mouse to pivot everything at once, which is very unnatural and limiting.

As for Admins what a joke. They ban more honest players then dishonest ones. Do a search of cheat products for these huge run FPS games and you'll find its a market industry writing cheats that are garunteed to beat PB or any other kind of ban software. Thing is playing niche games like AH spoils you because everyone is on the up and up and Hitech inc. can keep a close eye on any possible 2nd party code. AE is a huge conglomerate and I dont really think they give a darn, only caring about how many copies they can sell. I think the BF3 leaderboards are littered with cheats. Honestly I believe its a market industry and the only ones caught are the stupid ones who get greedy.

I like BF3.  In fact, I like it so much that I quit playing another game I was spending most of my time on and had formed a very successful clan in with help from others in this community.  The big issues I see for people that like a/c with BF3 is that you need to understand that it is an FPS that has jets in it.  The jets are arcade like in their flight qualities, but that is an accepted fact as it is not a dedicated flight sim in any shape or form.  It is a simple fact that most will not spend the time trying to learn a complex flight system in a FPS.  That said, the helo controls are a far better representation yet still remain arcade like in their simplicity.

The other issues I see that I wish they would really focus on are the cheaters.  The one thing I keep in mind here is that some servers take issue with it and are pro-active in getting rid of them, and some do not.  Punk Buster is a good tool, but you need to keep in mind that their are so many new cheats being produced daily, it takes time to catch these people.  The other thing to remember is that the server owner in a lot of ways controls who does and does not get kicked, so if you are playing with ultra melons, expect ultra melon play.

All in all, I enjoy the game and find it to be a nice diversion from other games in many aspects.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.
