You are, in fact, incorrect....

Did you read the photo's notes? I'd wager not....

Finally, the Tempest was a development of the Typhoon, whose origins had absolutely nothing to do with the Fw 190.

Below is the prototype Typhoon, which first flew in May of 1941, and was specifically designed to an Air Ministry specification released in 1937, before the Focke Wulf was anything more than a concept.

Seafury was not a copy of the Fw190.  It was an evolution of the Typhoon/Tempest line.  Where did you get the idea it was a copy of the Fw190?

Would I be correct in assuming that that hump raising the cockpit on the sea fury is specifically to see over the nose for carrier landings?

I think he meant Tempest Mk II and the way radial Bristol Centaurus engine was mounted, including annular oil cooler, which indeed was copied from captured fw190.

I've known Walt for quite some time, a legacy of working with Warren Bodie for a number of years. Walt is a very kind and generous guy, always finding time for fans and aviation/history buffs.

BTW, Walt celebrated his 83rd birthday yesterday. To give you an example of Walt's character, he answered each and every birthday wish posted to his Facebook page individually.

Not that pic, the one right after the Lanc factory pic, ,on the ground confused me since the first 6 feet of the airframe is identical to the Fury, but the tail is all Tempest
