:headscratch:

;)

to answer less evasively, there are a LOT of things I like about America and Americans. But there are also characteristics that really piss me off in people in general, no matter what race they are. Blind patriotism, hypocrisy, racism/xenophobia, superiority complex etc. It just so happens that traits like those seem to be more common than usual in the American populace ;)   you guys tend to be indoctrinated from an early age that America is the greatest country in the world, has never done any wrong, and every other country is jealous of you.

I actually do most of my trolling (and making friends :) ) with Yanks on another predominately American forum, where the general intelligence level is a lot higher and the ratio of redneck to rational person is a lot lower. So, when I come to the AH forums I vent my spleen a bit because I know it's really easy to get a reaction from all these mostly older guys, often ex-military...prime targets for some anti-American trolling.

It doesn't help that, having just moved to NZ I don't have my gaming PC or flight sim gear, so I'm bloody bored  :devil It's a bad habit, but one that I find hard to break.

classic example =D  drunk and angry internet toughguy. sorry your team lost the Super Bowl mate, and I'm also sorry that you and your countrymen are known and easily identified all the world over for being loud, obnoxious, ignorant (and don't forget fat) whenever they travel abroad (which rarely happens!)

 :aok

Your post proves that you can be a "loud, ignorant, obnoxious (and don't forget fat) Brit whenever you travel abroad or relocate.   Seems like you're a hypocrite as well.    I've been to a few countries, embrace their cultures and never had a problem.

Admittance to your trolling, likens you more to a ponce.

So coombzy why dont you post your picture and I'll post mine. Then we can get rid of the anonymity.

No Im not drunk...I have anger issues when it comes to football. Im an honest hard working man who is trying to get through life, and when some twink comes along that for some reason thinks he's superior to everyone else, I call him on it. Go back to your bum and tinkle show forums and leave the attitude there.

I'm not sure what relevance it has or what it'd prove, but I'm happy to if you don't mind waiting 20 mins or so, on my phone atm not laptop and just about to give my little boy his bath :x

Masherbrum I'm happy for you, but you seem to suffer the ultra patriotism thing I mentioned as I certainly wasn't attacking you, or all Americans by any means :)

I certainly didn't mean to give that impression! In fact, nothing could be further from the truth.

However, if I started listing all of the things I suck at, we'd be here all night. Although I suppose it might make you feel a bit better, but that's not my problem now is it?

Tupac, here are a couple pics of me from last year, I hope they make you feel better/superior/whatever result you were looking for. Don't bother posting yours because I don't need or care to see it :)  However, if you could give me any tips on the board game Risk in return, I'd be pretty grateful. The neighbours are coming over in just over 5 minutes to play with a bunch of us and I have never played it before!  :uhoh

My point wasn't to make anyone feel superior, my point was to prove this board isn't full of stereotypes (because it's not)

Cute kid btw

Tip with risk take Australia early and turn it into a fortress.

Damn Brits always giving Americans hell. By the way Americans travel abroad plenty, more than you would think, we just say we are from Canada.

I suffer from nothing, but your hypocrisy needed to be pointed out.   I am sorry that your only retort was the "ultra-patriotism" thing.

I'm from the US, and I see this country as the tallest of the dwarves, so to speak.  If there were another, better country (maybe Canada, Australia, or New Zealand?) I'd move there.  However, with Europe's economy in shambles, Central and South America being overrun by drug lords, Africa having little development to speak of, China's lack of freedom, and Japan's soaring debt, I think I'm in a pretty good place right now.  Does that make me a patriot?  Not any more than a tenant liking his/her apartment makes him/her an 'apartamentriot'.  I've traveled quite a bit in my 15 years, and apart from some general American jokes (I'm not Mr. Popular anywhere) the Poles, Germans, Russians, French, and I have gotten along very well.  It's all a matter of respect and self-awareness.  Once you're 'in country' for a few weeks, you'll be well adapted.

The only reason that I can see for US citizens to be seen as 'annoying', though, is that tourists in general are viewed that way, and since for a long time US citizens had more money to travel, they made up a good chunk of tourists.  However, xenophobia is also present in Europe, just look at how they treat Arab immigrants!  Obesity, on the other hand, is present to a greater degree in the US due to cheap carbohydrates.  Every country has its own good and bad points, and finding the right one is just like finding a good spouse- it can take a while but the search is well worth it.

You know Penguin, open borders work both ways.  If you're unhappy as one of the "dwarves", vote with your feet.

I never said that I was unhappy with living here, I said that I'll live wherever I'm happiest, and that is a very complicated decision involving mortgages, jobs, family, etc.  I am not seriously considering moving away at this time only because I need a clearer picture of what the countries that I mentioned have to offer.  If I can't find a better place, then I'll stay here and try to live well.  That isn't to suggest that America is a bad place, I just mean that I wouldn't stay here if moving to a better place were worth the cost.  I'll agree that the dwarf analogy wasn't the best, though.
