CTD loading the game
« on: February 05, 2012, 09:34:12 PM »
With the newest version I get this about one in every 10 times that I start the game. It happens when I double click on one of the arenas in the list to try to join:

Faulting application name: aceshigh.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f283789
Faulting module name: aceshigh.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f283789
Exception code: 0x80000003
Fault offset: 0x0009ca19
Faulting process id: 0xed8
Faulting application start time: 0x01cce47f6872a0ec
Faulting application path: C:\Games\Aces High\aceshigh.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Games\Aces High\aceshigh.exe

Is this from a clean start, or after an arena exit?

This happened again tonight. I have no idea what the exact steps are; it seems intermittent. It is always when double clicking on one of the arenas in the list, however.

Faulting module name: aceshigh.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f283789

A new one tonight, this time while playing. I was flying low over a town, getting shot at by town ack and fleet puffy ack. Not sure if any of that helps. After I got back to the desktop my speakers were stuck with a buzzing sound. I had to reboot to stop the sound:

Faulting application name: aceshigh.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f283789
Faulting module name: aceshigh.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f283789

Faulting module path: C:\Games\Aces High\aceshigh.exe

Gryffin: How much memory do you have on your system.

And how much mem do you have on your vcard.

And what Operating System.

Also on that first crash with the 80000003 exit code.

We tracked that one done and it has to do with Keymap Registration. Basically a registered key map is being registered again. But we do not no what key map I.E. global, airplane, vehicle ... is doing it.

so do you normally have the Lobby open? And had you done any remapping?

Thank.

System Ram: 16 Gb
Vid Ram: 3 Gb
OS: Win 7 x64

I don't go into the lobby.

I haven't remapped the keys in ages. I have had the same installation with the same keymapping for years, and I just upgrade over the top of it with each new version. Should I try remapping the keys?

FWIW I have played every day since that last crash with no issues  :headscratch:

If there is anything else I can do let me me know.

I am also :headscratch: on the current CTD's. We haven't found the common link yet.

I haven't remapped the keys in ages.

I retract this statement :)

I just remembered that a couple of months ago I tried a GV for the first time in forever, and I had to do something to make mode 2 work. I don't remember exactly what I did. I don't believe I remapped any individual keys though, I just had to get mode 2 working.

Looking at my stats, it was sometime in December.

Could this be a factor?
