Sorry if this was already posted.  I don't have the patience to wait for the search engine to find stuff, when I have to constrain the search to the previous year only.

That's probably the best flying combat scenes I've ever seen.  Of course, the whole knock-the-wings-off-and-gently-slide-to-a-stop-in-a-potato-field is bit is ridiculous but overall it's great.

If you noticed, his touch down was so light he didn't even leave a mark in the land. :D  The German's was a little rougher though.

Great short film right there. I don't know that they both would have survived that collision at such a low altitude but hey its a movie right.

"The German" was well done in most respects... Just few details were amiss....

Battle of Britain, the only time there were significant daylight bomber formations over Britain. So, I assume that this was the BoB.

There were no cannon armed Spitfires (beyond some prototypes) that saw combat in the BoB that I'm aware of. The Spitfires depicted are clearly Mk.Vs. I can find no squadron fighting in the BoB with an FH code.

How does a fight over Britain end up over Ireland within a couple of minutes? The Irish Sea is over 200 miles wide. Moreover, even flying one way at best cruise, a 109E probably couldn't get to Ireland.

As I said, very entertaining, but anyone with some aviation and geography background would recognize that you won't find 109s over the Irish countryside. Why would there be German bomber formations very near Ireland? Etc....

Yes, it was known as the "Belfast Blitz" with high loss of civilian lives.  However, these were night time raids.

Every time the Spit driver pushed the gun button it screamed eight gun Spit too.  It was not a spade grip for a cannon armed Spit.  later, exhausts, canopy and windscreen too.  Late Spit Vb :)

The markings and camo were from 42 and there was no FH coded fighter squadron.  Kinda too bad the guy didn't have earphones inside the covers of his flying helmet either.

Good fun though. Nice little film.
