My bro-in-law is Green Beret/Special Forces. They have issues with John Wayne. While he drummed it up for SF in the Vietnam era movie "The Green Berets" he spent WW2 in Canada. Agreed, John Wayne personifies WW2 in film, Jimmy Stewart did in real life.
