Gunners who have joined
« on: February 09, 2012, 02:08:45 PM »
:aok Players who have joined a bomber in flight as a gunner! Not sure how AH can do it, but would be nice if there was some notice to the PIC when that person decides to exit the aircraft or bail! I know the gunner should, out of common sense, tell the PIC that he is leaving and most do, but with disco problems and inexperence people bailing without saying anything, sometimes it gets "hairy". I have been in a bomb sight, thinking I had a gunner, when he had, in fact bailed, and then was shot down by approaching "bad" guy! Maybe a light on the instrument panel, or indicator, like the number of bombs in bomb bay would be in order. Its not a big problem, but it has happened to me twice in last two weeks, taking on a "newbbie" to give them some flying time and to help them anyway I can. Any thoughts on this guys?

that and the ability to kick a gunner out.  there's been times when I'll take somebody up with me and he being new will shoot at every single airplane that comes within sight.

Sounds reasonable.

Until then, don't let "just anybody" in your plane with you.  ;)

I approve of this request.  Frankly, I'm actually quite surprised that there isn't a message other than the initial join message that you have an observer/gunner on board.

+1 to both a message telling you your gunner/observer left AND the ability to kick a gunner/observer.

Plus an ejection seat in the gunner position. :D

2. Ability to kick naughty gunners

3. Message announcing the departure of gunner (weather intentional or not).

+1  I overall feel the ".join" feature is one that can be relatively easily but immensley expanded in the game, but highest priority would be to allow the PIC more authority over their aircraft and passengers.  If a PIC abuses it, say kicking out their helpful gunner before landing, I doubt it won't be long before anybody decides to join and assist that pilot again..... abusable, but only until you run out of the unweary and trusting (and most those players get broken-in with the Alt+F4 joke anyways).

+1 for message that your gunner has left
+1 for ability to kick gunner

good wish (and easy to coad) :aok

It's an assumption, but a pretty safe one.... still, even the easy can be impossible without the time to do it.

Sounds reasonable.

Until then, don't let "just anybody" in your plane with you.  ;)

That is my rule of thumb... but... this is a game... and honestly me saying "no, you can't come along/watch and enjoy the fun" seems kinda wrong if not shallow.

Old topic, but to my knowledge there are no features like that in the game yet.
