Not to be a total ass, but I get really irked by statements like that. He died crashing into the ground, not something most pilots love doing.

There was no way he was conscious when he hit. He was talking to one of my friends in the TRACON and they didn't hear a peep out of him. He just dissapeared off the radar.

There is no way to say conclusively that is the case based only on silence from the aircraft.  Fire, electrical malfunction and subsequent disorientation/distraction, flight control failure and dealing with an engine failure come to mind immediately as alternative explanations for silence.

Where does yapping on the radio come on your list of priorities when you're dealing with something that is killing you?

Dead last.

You have CO detectors in your airplane?  You better.

Yes, I do. He hit near vertical it looks like, either the plane was uncontrollable or he was unconscious. There was no fire (or atleast no post crash fire)

either the plane was uncontrollable or he was unconscious.

That is a pretty closed statement for someone with minimal flying experience.

Ditto what Golfer already posted.

The information to what happened is pretty  limited, so to assign a cause factor is impossible at this point. Any opinions are just speculation and should not be presented as likely.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.
