The finds they've made over the years from WW1 are absolutely amazing.  Lots of "Pompeii" sites sadly.  Wasn't that long ago that they found a buried British tank

Incredible and sad too.

I'm actually happy to see them find remains like that, especially if they can identify them. Of the three relatives that I know of who dies on the Western Front, only one has an actual grave (in the German cemetery at Mangiennes), the other two are nothing more than names on walls. Having something for the family to bury and remember is closure, even all these years later.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Gotta book for you  http://www.amazon.com/Aftermath-Remnants-Landmines-Warfare-Devastating/dp/067975153X Its pretty good, read it 10-15 years ago, you can get it used and maybe from the library.  Has a grisly part about the bonefields outside of Volgograd (Stalingrad) which when I did an internet search last week don't seem to exist anymore and are even denied by internet sweetheartbags.
