Flying Jeeps
« on: February 11, 2012, 04:14:48 PM »
A useful addition to the aces high ground game would be the addition of the Hafner Rotabuggy, or flying jeep.  I propose that this craft require a perk cost to use, but could be quite effective at resupplying friendly tanks in a battle.  The current jeep can get the job done, but this would be nice to have in certain applications where the terrain is rugged, the journey is far, or there are too many perils en route to resupply.  Provided below is some limited data for modeling purposes, but I'm not sure what the max alt ceiling is.

Rotabuggy data:
ROTOR SPAN:
46 ft. 8 in. (12.4 m.)

GROSS WEIGHT:
3,110 lb. (1411 kg) including
550 lb. (241 kg) for rotor unit DESIGN MAX. SPEED:
150 mph (241 km/h)

EST. RATE OF DESCENT:
960-1,980 ft/min
(4.9-10 m/sec)

For a second I thought DavidWales actually made a sensible thread.

How many of these were build?

Well then I'm sure you know that HTC wont add it unless it saw squadron service.

That's funny, that's pretty much what I said to my wife when she asked me why I wanted to build my own airplane.  :lol

yeah sure :rofl

If you look closer, that is its rate of descent, not climb.  The 150 mph seems to be a stretch though.
