I believe I've gotten the answer. It appears to be a grey rat snake. I'm waiting on the UGA vet school to confirm it.
Thanks everyone....now to decide if I'm gonna keep it or let it go. Either way, it's staying in the cage til it gets warmer.

If it is a native species then let it go someplace where it can survive.
Snakes are great at rodent control, and you might want to take a closer look at the apartment complex you're managing. The snake was there for a reason, and you may actually have a rodent problem.

Bunch of them around here in south MS . That and those darn Blue racers , now I can't stand them . Last one I seen run me back in the truck while I was loading some wood . I bent down to pick up some board's to load on the truck and while I was bent down some thing caught my eye and it was that BR looking right at me with in a foot from me eyeball to eyeball so I dropped the wood and jumped in the back of the truck with him right behind me . I know there all bluff but all I seen was SNAKE standing 2 feet tall looking me in the eye , lol . Then I seen what it was and then ran him for a while , lol . Let him get away on top of that .

I manage an apartment community in Augusta, Ga. A resident called me today to catch a snake. This is it. Anyone know what it is? i suspect it's a python or a boa

Meatwad may have been referring to the temperature in IL, but honestly, if it isn't native, it should die or at the very least never go free again.  I know it is harsh on the snake, but sometimes life sucks.

Pythons/boa here are dead on sight. Reason for it being..........

Used to have neighbors next to us years ago had a boa as a pet. It got out of its "house" and killed their 3yr old son early one morning back in 1999.  About a month ago I happened to see it on an animal planet show, cant remember what it was called. But the story was about a family's pet boa that got out and killed their 3yr old boy here in Centralia, IL, we were their neighbors.

There are parts that werent told that I wont go into details about, but long story short they were scum that DCFS couldnt get to in time
