yes others had quit in years prior for many reasons, but lately the biggest reason for Muppet inactivity is related to time switching.

i had a choice a week ago, hang with my squadies who were playing but unfortunately were on the high number side (a mob showed up after they switched) or fly on a low side by myself. well im in a squad cause i like to fly with my squad not against them. although Muppetside is a very common event we would actually rather be on the same side working together instead of against each other.

waiting 12 hours so that we can be in the same country then being stuck with horde like country numbers because the tardlings sign on in mass is aggrivating and extremely frustrating.

you cant find a fight when everywhere you go 20 or more friendlies up behind you, you become a part of the horde you are attempting to avoid. i had green guys clear my 12 O'clock in 6 flights in a row, not because they were just being jerks, but because there were so few red guys that they swamed any that appeared no matter how many were already on it. lucky me, at the time i had only 9.5 hours remaining before i could switch again.

the 12 hr rule changed how some people play like that, they will switch from country to country depending on who's hording at the time.  I know some people like cal are pretty good at giving a fair fight.  but the majority of people who switch, will switch just to horde.  some people just get caught in the middle.

but to be honest the muppets mostly stayed as bishops even when there was a 1 hr switch and specially at night when the bishops had more players.  they wouldnt fly with he tards for sure but they were not with the low side either.  so I dont buy this the 12 hour rule is making me quit, sorry.

I play just about everyday from early afternoon till dawn sometimes.  and i do agree that it's getting to be more like a horde against horde fights.  I dont like it either as it's hard for me to pick as much as I want  :D (ok it's a joke but a serious joke). but even then changing countries when there's hundreds of players isnt gonna make it easier to find a "small fight".  in early afternoon the side with the low numbers has at least 150 players.  so it's hard to make the case that 1 hr switch time will allow to find smaller fights.  and even if you ask about late at night, may I remind you about how the bishops had way more players who had switched to roll undefended bases.

anyway enough rambling for me  :salute :bolt:

The only reason I've ever seen for the 12 hour switch rule was Hitech saying thats what it was before the split arena days and when he went back to the single LW arena he had forgotten to reset it back to the 12 hours.

I wonder if anyone has ever talked with Hitech personally and asked him why he has it set for 12 hours. If there was a reason posted other than "because I said so" I'd be happy to stick with it.

I'd accept that, also.

this is one statement i will dispute.......

Muppet's dont mostly fly bish, if anything they are least often found upon the bishop side. when i joined the Muppet's they were the scourge of the B.o.P.'s..(<S> B.o.P.'s)...who are a bishop only squad. we made it a point if the B.o.P.'s were on in force we would go to whatever side they were hording so we could fight them.

now times have changed and the B.o.P.'s are either not as huge a squad as they once were or they just arent on as often, (cause i dont see them in horde base jumping mode anymore) but the Muppet's being side jumpers to find the fights has not changed. are we caught on occasion on the high numbers side...well unfortunately with the 12 hour rule and the fact that each country has its own dedicated mega-horde squad, well yes, yes sadly we are.

you further missed my specific point when i stated clearly that i am not quitting, but i have lost squaddies over this, and am losing interest in not being able to fly with who i choose to fly with, in a place that will give me the best opportunity to find excitement in the game. being one of the 10 people jumping a single con is just not exciting to me......

now i may not cancel my account.......but i am not against just not signing on for months at a time. now as HiTech still gets paid they will not care if i am there or not, but for the people in the MA's, who want to find combat in a combat simulation game, each loss of an active and combative player moves you closer and closer to only having mega-hordes that spend their nights avoiding contact with each other so that they can overwhelm and roll undefended bases.

does that clarify what i was trying to say?

oh, and p.s. before i have one third of the community up in arms, there is nothing wrong with flying bish.......everyone starts off in the shallow end of the swimming pool, some just choose to make a career out of wading!!!
