exit plane/vehical delay
« on: February 15, 2012, 05:18:43 PM »
Been asked about before but not for a while. I would like to see how a few seconds of delay between pressing tower and exiting a plane/vehical affected gameplay. I think that realisticaly it would take at least 5-10 seconds to exit and get clear of your aircraft in the event of an enemy straffing you.

I have no problem at all with people exiting and denying me a kill, say in a tank I am trying to bomb. That is not the primary motive for my wishing it. I think it would add a more realistic sense of saftey to my own sortie when I belly land a vulched field. A quick view chage animation to show me leaving the aircraft and dashing for the grass would be exciting. It would also mean I would have to plan my landing alot more carefully and could not just tower out the instant i hit 0mph.

I wouldn't rate this as a high priority type wish for dev time. Certainly wouldn't want it to take away time spent on adding vehicals to the game or code/graphics improvements. Anyone like or dislike this idea though?
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

in that case it should also take you about 10 to 15 minutes to get into your airplane and taxi to the designated area for takeoff.

game is about flying and dying, not about making it easier to get vulched  :bolt:.

I would prefer to see a delay in BAILING from a stricken airplane. Like, exiting from a B-17 is able to be done instantaneously, when in reality, the hatch was forward and below the cockpit... Same for the B-24 and the Lanc we have in-game. I don't even care if there's a view change/movement, just a delay. In FA for example, it said "BAILING 3/2/1" I'd like something like that for AH

There used to be a delay from entering your plane, it used to the time from walking from the tower to your plane but everyone would just disable it so you'd immediately spawn in your plane.  Don't think the option is even in the game anymore.

I'm sorry but I enjoy landing when I want too, there's enough timidness in this game I deserve not to be delayed from a Vtard bombing me because he can't tank etc.

when should have USB breathalysers to test our alcohol levels before we fly.

That's a good idea, something like that might work.

It strikes me that the timid one is he who towers out to avoid a bomb
