Intelligent arguments
« on: February 16, 2012, 07:31:07 PM »
it might be a stretch but i would just like to see some constructive criticism here. why do have to have "NO, I DONT WANT IT, ILL NEVER USE IT SO NO ONE ELSE WILL" many of the suggestions on here can be shot down with facts, not simply opinions. IMHO every plane, idea, etc that we can think up should be implemented, granted there is a hierarchy to witch order they should be added, but i feel that there is no need for the people that seem to think they are the final say based on their own opinions. that is all

I wish people would use the wish list forum to post their brilliant ideas, and be smart enough to not post all their stupid ones.

But I am under no disillusions of my wish ever being fulfilled.

You needn't worry. Those opinions don't make any difference. Ideas stand or fall on their own merits.

agreed, i just think that when the internet was envisioned it was for a better way to communicate, and help along intellectual understanding. granted many people troll on here, but there are a few that wish, and get shot down out of lack of understanding. and besides discouraging new posters the type of behavior we see now just feeds those that do troll

You can't change people. It's like trying to tell a cat what to do, it'll only do what you tell it to do if what you're telling it to do is what it already intended to do.

So this wish is a lot more than a stretch. You should wish for people to keep belittling each other and resort to personal attacks, I'm sure that'll get granted.

Just like many other boards there are folks on here that contribute and others that detract from an online community like ours. After a while you will just learn to skip reading something on here just based on the avatar of the poster.

There are good folks on here...unfortunately they don't post or reply to as many topics as the trolls do.

This is the worst wish ever.  Who would want to do that?  I'd rather bring up something completely unlrelated.

I'm tired of runways with trees to close to the end of it.  HiTech needs to make a Jeep with a chainsaw so we can clear these...  GRRR!

everybody has a favorite airplane/gv that they want added.  Me I would love to see the a26 added, just to remember the good old days of aw.  I dont care if it doesnt perform/fly like it did back then.  it has great speed, lots of guns and carries lots of ords.  really good all around bomber/attack airplane.

Having said that, i see lots of airplanes have been added since i got here 5 years ago.  but with the exception of couple of versions of the p47, the other airplanes are just hangar queens.  look at the b29, everybody wanted it, but I go weeks without seeing one.  same for planes like the i16, p40's etc.

Which brings me back to the new requests.  some of the airplanes requested are so slow and w/o purpose really, like the pby, that it really makes you wonder why they should be added.  and most of the other airplanes requested are the same way.  guaranteed to go into the hangar to be seen even less than elvis.

I look at it as constructive arguments, for example the Paul Defiant thread - sure it was a footnote in World War 2, it also seen combat action.
However I look at it from both sides of the argument, 99% that would vote on it never flew in the back of a Kate Torpedo plane or SBD trying to gun.

I vote personally on what plane served in the most theaters, and had a higher impact overall, for example if Plane A had 3000 built and served in 1 theater vs plane B who had 500 built but served in 4 theaters, I am voting on Plane B because I want something that will show up more then once in snapshots, FSO and the Main Arena.

I do shy away from anything POST Spring of 1944, frankly there is enough late war crap to go around, Midwar and Early War could the attention in my opinion, but I also won't reject something simply because it is beyond 44.

I will always keep it between the lines, some aircraft like the Boomerang in my opinion did not do squat during the war where aircraft like the Ki-43 get ignored time and time again. Both served in multiple theaters, however the Ki-43 scored victories where Boomerang is more of a Paul Defiant footnote.

Being that the only plane you fly is the P-51D, every plane in the game is a hangar queen to you.   :ahand

Woot! And while pigs fly and sing the halleluja chorus, you want congress to pass a budget this century and the ACLU demand the repeal of all firarms laws in the US? DW speaks through the heart of a yet to be corrupted soul.

If you survive, with time, you will come to value this blog as the "Open Mic" comedy night it truely is 7 days a week. Just remember asbestos long johns are a survival requirement not a fashion statement. Don't worry if you are a littel stiff to start with. We've all been doused with flaming fuel and tossed from the plane numerous times over the years. The more burn scars the less you feel the ground impact.

We should cherish this lamb in the wilderness before we jade and cloud his clairity of reality. For then we will have burned yet another bridge back to the salvation of our credulities.
