Name in lights and score modification
« on: February 17, 2012, 08:42:29 AM »
Players wants to look good - players don't want to fight  :cry

---
if ((yourPlaneSpeed - enemyPlaneSpeed) > timidThreshold)
{
   pick++;
}
else
{
   kill++;
}

... and ...

textBuffer.Write(player + " landed " + kill + " beautiful kill(s) and " + pick + " lousy pick(s)");
sortieScoreModifier = kill / (pick + 1);
---

He is requesting a "feature" to give Spitfires, N1Ks and A6Ms "Kills" while Fw190s, P-51s and such would mostly get "Picks".  Essentially he is saying that a kill obtained in a stall speed turn is more valid than one obtained when you are going 100mph faster than the target.

Bad idea.

I have a film here the other night of a gent coming in from 15000 feet, I was fresh off the deck and still accelerating.  After about 5 minutes of BnZ, I finally had the guy stall out in front of me doing something stupid, I was at 280MPH.  From the beginning of the fight right up until his last pass he was high E on me, when I killed him, he was maybe traveling 50-80MPH.   I would then get a "Pick" for properly defending against one?   :noid

Yep.

You guys realize it's a joke, right? I thought it was pretty funny, well played with pseudo code and everything.

Be quiet, you!

(Image removed from quote.)

The last two threads I've looked at have had these pictures, should I expect to be seeing these a lot more in the upcoming days?  :confused:
