Rudder pedals

Does anyone know if there are rudder pedals available out there that are better than the pedals by CH Products or Saitek?

I have CH pedals and they are a bit to close together for me.

I use a set of Saitek pedals, for about three years now.  The stance is wider then the CH pedals, which is why I went with the Saitek pedals.  I'm really interested in the newer Saitek Combat Pedals.  If my pedals ever wear out I will probably upgrade to the Combat pedals...

I have had TM RCS (upgraded with Hall Sensors and loved them but sold them), have had CH pedals (they were good just to narrow for me) and both Saitek pedals the Pro and the Combat. I liked the Pro but I LOVE THE COMBAT. The Combat pedals absolutely remind me of the TM RCS pedals in their stance but with better ergonomics. I used to have to adjust my chair position all the time with the TM RCS and Saitek Pro pedals but with the Combat pedals I was able to adjust the angle of the foot part and that is all I have had to do. Best pedals I have ever used but I haven't been able to get my hands on a set of Hoffman pedals from Germany yet. They are a little more pricey than what I want to spend on them.

+1 for the Simpeds, i've had mine for 2 years, and they've never needed extra calibration, or shown any signs of wear.

I suggest to try to build them using anoher joystick.

It could be done, using the analog inputs from a twisty stick, but the cost for a home built set comparable to a commercially made set would probably be far higher.

I have been using the same set of saiteks for 4 years with no problems as yet and I fly nearly every day!

How do the Simpeds compare with the Saiteks?  My Saitek pedals work well but they creak and groan as the plastic flexes and the pedals slide or you push the toe brakes.  Not exactly the highest quality construction but typical of Saitek's products, i.e., good for the price but not world-beaters by any means.  I'm planning on upgrading from an X-52 Pro to a Warthog (once they fix the bushing issue) and wouldn't mind doing the same with the rudder pedals.

I've never had Saitek pedals, so I can't say how the Simpeds compare.
I came over from CH pedals. I find the Simpeds a little, (and I mean tiny bit) more comfortable than the CH because of the wider stance. Both are stable, both have toe brakes, and both work reliably, for me. I've had the CH pedals for eight years, and the only problem I had was the right toe brake quit working. The Simpeds I've had for just over a year, and they work great. I've only calibrated them the one time when I installed them.

Exactly the same thing happened to mine!  I've just been too lazy to pop them open and try to fix 'em.

I, too, miss the wide stance and solid construction of the old pre-Guillemot ThrustMaster Rudder Control System pedals.

I did pop my CH peds open, and it wasn't a broken wire as I thought it would be, but a bad pot.

That's another thing, the Simpeds toe brakes are switches, either off or on, where the CH uses a potentiometer.

Here's what I did...but I left off the toe brakes.   I did allow for them in my design if I want to add them later...

Total Cost - about $25 for a Saitek GT290 joystick.

I hate to jump off here but what "bushing issue" are you talking about with the Warthog?

About the pedals I have really enjoyed using my Combat Pedals and they are light years above and beyond the Pro Pedals in feel and function.

I think he is referring to saitek and not thrustmaster not sure of any bushings in wearing.
