the C-130 is, too.. but methinks I lost it when I transitioned to Win 7..    

I don't remember if the SR71 is payware or not.  

Now I remember why I like to buy my stuff on CDs and have the disks in hand.

I hope the SR-71 is freeware or cheap. I would re-install the game just to fly it lol

The CaptainSim calls it a CL-130   a quick dogpile search didn't reveal anything definitive.. yet.

I just don't see a reason why it would need to land on water.

And it would be significantly slower than a normal herc.

There was an actual design for the 130 to have floats, but i cant remember if it made it to prototype stage or if it never left the drawing boards. It was the LC-130, not CL-130.
Its just like the C-47 with floats. Those are real and are common in Alaska (rather, thats where most of the float C-47/dc-3's are).

Looking at the OP I keep thinking, why do people say AH has horrible graphics?

Because it does compared to FSX with high settings, let alone if you have 3rd party upgrades.

Yeah, I think it has rockets in front to slow it down on landing/in the back to speeed it up on T/O, right?

however, i think the Float version was the initial LC. IIRC the skiied version beat out the float version in the end due to the excess drag and speed/payload restrictions which is why the LC is the current skiied version.

I cant say that with certainty, but i think thats how it went from the documentry i watched on the c-130 some moons ago.

I'd also like to point out that our new AH2 models not only look as good, if not better, that I can run them on my laptop.  FSX with everything turned to minimum is essentially unplayable for me.

No they arent. They are still very basic models compared to most quality 3rd party add-ons for FS9 or FSX. Now dont get me wrong, for how basic they are, they do look good. But if you put a AH plane into FS, it wouldnt even compare.

I never try to compare AH vs. FSX with the expectation that AH should be as good, eye-candyish, as FSX.

FSX doesn't have to handle 700 players in a single 'world' like AH does.
