Airplane Contruction Kits
« on: February 20, 2012, 12:12:28 AM »
Hey guys, i recently decided that i need to get the creative side of my brain going again and i thought thatthere was no better way than to build some planes! Does anybody know any realistic construction kits i can buy anywhere, liek really big, lots of pieces that should keep me occupied for awhile?

Thanks! <S>

You mean like plastic models?

Look no further than http://www.spruebrothers.com/

As for kit suggestions, it helps to know what subjects you're into.

Yea like those! Or pretty much anything really. Im into all the ww2 planes and tanks, things of that era. Anything i can put together. My goal is to eventually build my own rc plane, or tank, seeing as im going to major in engineering i should start getting involved.

Paint is the most expensive bit, especially if your picky about your colours. I often buy cheap stuff of e-bay ($3.00) in 1/72 scale and build in lots of similar colors. so as to save on paint, acrylic is your best way to go when starting out. Heres a couple of examples from e-bay, all built in a day too.

have fun, start cheap and don't stress.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

Go to your local hobby shop and check out the Guillows balsa planes.  Best thing is if you put the rubber band in them after you're finished building it you can take it outside and turn it back into a box full of sticks.

The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.
