Small TrackIR tweak
« on: February 28, 2012, 12:03:13 PM »
Remember when the 'home' position for TrackIR used to be the default you get on a fresh install of the game, no matter what views you had set up, and based on a wish, through one line of code Hitech was able to make it alterable so you could change your 'at rest' position and save it with F10, and have that apply when you used TrackIR?

Would it be possible to have that same thing apply to the saved head positions you've got depending on which view button you have pressed?  As it stands now, if you hit the back button on your hat, it's in the stock default head position, smack in the middle of the F6F's seat, and you have to squiggle with the TrackIR from there.  You're just as far ahead to not use the view button and just turn your head.

What I'd like is to have the best of both worlds, where you can save a view, and it won't be interfered with by TIR.  That way, if you have a view set up with your hat in a specific spot, it will go there when you hit the view button, but you wouldn't have to disable the x,y, and z axes in your TrackIR to use hat views.

I would hope it would be as simple as the last fix, just using the stored view locations for the starting point instead of the absolute default location for your head when you're holding a hat view.

I'd like to fly the hellcat more, but can't see behind me as well as I can with hat views with my TIR.  Not a huge deal, but it would really help with certain restricted-view planes.
