PO and Thanks American Truckers
« on: March 02, 2012, 09:55:43 PM »
OK guys

As the title says i am PO and glad to be one of America's Truckers. OK here is the situation:

I was laying over at the Ramparo Travel Plaza in NY when I decided to go inside to get something to eat. As I was waiting patiently in line, behind a Tech Seargent in the Air Force, the counter was covered with approx 15 to 20 young thugs that i could tell were under the influence. After ordering their food, them reordering some more, they must have felt the TSGT was a target for their verbal barrage of negative comments. They asked him, because he was in Uniform, "what you going out hunting?" " ha ha ha that cammo looks like chit" {not exactly what he said} and "Wanna play war?? I'll lay down and you can blow me all to hell"

Well being a vet I decided to back this gentleman at all cost. I asked them if they appreciated their right to freedom of speech and one hood told me to "Step to the right it didn't involve me"

Well being smart I got out to my truck and hollered out on the CB that I needed help with a active duty troop, 20-1 odds and he needed help ASAP. Not getting a response I decided to go inside with my equalizer, aka tire thumper.

While I was going in I, I looked around and saw approx 35 various sized truck drivers headed to the service plaza, I asked one why he was going in and he stated " A Fellow service member needs help."

Well these thugs, and that is the nice name I am using for them, didn't feel so big when confronted with fact that they were out numbered and out sized.

Long story short, they ran out when they saw us backing the TSGT and ran like a scalded dog. No punches were thrown and no violence happened, though I would have liked to kick their butts and hand them to the NYSP, but that didn't happen.

I just wanted to say thanks to all the truckers who in a time of need backed up one AirMan who was being bullied by a bunch of idiots and "D"bags (D doesn't stand for dirt)

BTW That TSGT left with a free meal and he had an escort to his vehicle by all of us.

just a guess bro but right up until the time an idiot made a move you'd have handled it with class and patience.  Once somebody got bold enough to make a move there would have been a lot of hurt idiots in the vicinity.

I really hate to see people act like sweetheartbags for any reason, ebfd11, but if you go back to the part in bold, had anything happened, you would or could have been charged with not only assault with a deadly weapon, but also inciting a riot. You would not have wanted to be around when the Statie's showed up.

I'm sure they wouldn't have minded. The cops around my area actually think with their heads. They'll act like they didn't see a thing. Keeps the community warm and cozy.

Great story! Way to keep a level head and do the right thing. Cudos to the guys who answered the call.

The best part of the story is you can substitute "thug" for "vTard" and it still works perfectly.

..or protecting a citizen from some of NY's trash.

Thoughts like this are why trash gets bold. Too many just roll over which does not defuse the situation. More often it will escalate. This is because the type of cowardly trash causing the situation simply feeds on your feasr.

this is an awesome thing.  Presence alone is enough to thwart confrontation.  Good for those who answered the call.

What I didn't post was the Manager did call the NYSP and when they did show up they looked at the video and they saw what happened and one even chuckled when he saw how quickly the idiots scattered when we came back in.

Great story! Way to keep a level head and do the right thing. Cudos to the guys who answered the call.

As much as I have to say it, the V guys have more class in my eyes than what these dirtbags have, sorry to say that but it is true.

You would not have wanted to be around when the Statie's showed up.

The seargent that was there saw I had my tire thumper with me and he asked why I had it. I explained I was outnumbered 10-1 and my life was in danger. He said I had every right to use it if they were to advance on my personal space.

Right on.

Can't recall any civies ever messing with me while in uniform.  Not sure how I would've reacted to it back then.
Ranger when you and I were in they had respect for anyone in uniform, nowadays some people just have no respect for anyone but themselves.

BTW if you happen to see any current member of the military in a restaurant or fast food place inform him his money is no good there and splurge for him or her.
