Blackwater aviation, Presidential Airways, AWS, AAR

Or whatever their name of year is. It's a long shot in this forum but I couldn 't find much info about their pilot interview/salary. After 7+ years of flying boxes in Metros/402s I'm up for an interview.  :joystick:

Last summer I read their 60/30 schedule may change to something else, internal recs were almost compulsory and their pay structure was due to change thanks to the tax man.

If you got an interview, good luck!  I know of a few people that were in Afghanistan for various companies.  I'll ask and see what I can find. (cough, PPW, cough)

A friend got an interview with them.  Actually Blackwater initiated the contact.  My friend is a retired SEAL, flew in the Team 6 admin air unit.  I think they want ex-military/spec ops folks.  Good luck, would be an interesting job for sure.

All I know so far is 60/30 mainly Afghanistan, Africa (guessing DRC) and Guam (Guam!?). I'm a veteran but not US, I do not have a security clearance, no internal ref. At any rate, they sent me a plane ticket/hotel/car rental this I think I picked their interest. But I do have 5000+ of no autopilot/gps stream guages all weather/terrain flying, I guess that's what they are after. Probably fluent in French for Africa ops too.

I'm aware of the  OCONUS lifestyle and don't mind it. I know Dynamic pays $600/day, L3 a bit more, I was wondering for AAR. You are now a company employee, no 1099 anymore. Interview has no sim, wondered if they had technical or just watermelon chat.

Frenchy we are a dying breed. They would be foolish  not to hire, especially with all the non-autopilot time

I think it's Academi or something now. Was Xe. Idk, maybe go work for someone that doesn't have to change their name every year. You should look into them and the founder Eric Prince before you make a decision on working for them, unless you're into that stuff and already have your templar call sign picked out.

I can't stand this kid but he seems to be somewhat of an "expert" on these guys. He talks a little bit about their airforce at the end.

Hannibal, I'm familiar with all the bad press. Two things here.

- Blackwater had several branches, one being Presidential Airways which mainly flew troops/supplies. They got bought back by AAR Corps to become AAR Airlift Group. Same people, same missions but Prince's name is not to be found. In the other end I did interview in Melbourne in 2001 with a company called TSI, that i think became Blackwater Aviation. I wonder if it's Black's TSI he mentions. AAR is also in Melbourne's airport.

- About Prince himself and that kid's book. I think it's the usual truth bending conspiracy theory that the public loves so much, right along the lines of President Bush admin made 9/11 happen to jumpstart their new world order. Is he a right wing Christian extremist? I guess. Is he out to kill every muslim he can. Noooo. The templar callsigns, why not? It's what he likes, but it's like calling Bluekitty a Nazi because she called her dog Stuka. Did Prince mingles politically to get his ways, sure like every single powerful entreprenor in this country. Is Blackwater's ethic squicky clean? Hell no, they probably do their dirt on the side to get extra cash would it be fiscally or on the field. Again like many other companies AND governments. And then there's the occasional the massacres that the press loves to feed on. I don't know what part of Mercenary they can't spell, but all they care is their objectives so they get paid. If they were that trigger happy, that out of control and ineffective, how come you didn't see a new massacre every week on NBC, and how come they got 'rehired' despite all the negative press.

The ' frequent' name change is probably due to tax reasons rather than a political christian fanatical conspiracy.

My 2cts, but what do I know? Other opinions welcomed :)
