Navy Jeep
« on: March 08, 2012, 01:07:20 PM »
Is there any reason that it wouldn't be accepted if one were to be skinned?

I understand that they were mostly used aboard larger ships, but they still had them and are historically accurate, nonetheless  :)

I was thinking the same thing.  My grandfather says that they had one aboard his ship (USS Monongahela AO-42) and that he used to drive the "old man" around on it aboard ship and when they had the chance to go ashore :aok

When it's all said & done how many jeeps can you prove were in combat? Most I would say were not it may get a little questionable if you tried to pass this one off.

I guess you could argue that it did see service  :headscratch: Just not combat service.

Well, although I don't have a picture of it, I was going to some info from the next best source  :)

While I'm sure the jeep on his ship wasn't used specifically DURING the combat, I'm certain that it was present while those battle stars were being earned.   :)

In all reality, I doubt that there is any evidence left of any jeeps that were used IN actual combat  :rofl

Great pics indeed!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I'm still hinting for a good British skin for the M3.  I'm not sure of the jeep is even worth doing.   :D

I would think they were used at navy bases all through the pacific, and all of those were war zones. Why wouldn't it be allowed?

I'm the sure the SeaBees used jeeps in combat zones while building airfields on newly captured islands.
