Yet another update that nerfs my joystick!
« on: March 08, 2012, 03:51:30 PM »
Get into game fly around abit somethings wrong not even near the edge after a few flights I try and turn my forcefeedback on my Microsoft sidewinder FF2 up...nothing. Try the old work around disabling and enabling forcefeedback now I completely lose forcefeedback and it won't come back until I log in and out again hallelujah!

Does this game get tested with hardware to check for compatibilty before updates are released?? This is the same problem that happened before.

Version 2.21 Changes
======================

Added the Mosquito Mk XVI.  Note that this is the first plane in the game to make use of 2048 cockpit textures.  You will need the hi-res texture pack installed and have your max texture size set to 2048 in your video settings.  Salute to Greebo for the skin and cockpit texture.

Fixed a crash bug that occurred if too many sounds were played simutaneously.

Terrain hills on airfields and towns now pick up the underlying texture.

Increased climb performance of the Mosquito Mk VI.

Changed the default SdKfz 251 skin to Greebo's 116th Panzer Division skin.  The previous default skin by Greebo will be available as an optional skin.

Began adding low cost shadow effects to certain terrain objects.  This is defaulted off and can be turned on in the advanced graphics detail menu.

Changed the plane list display in the film viewer to show the long icon name instead of the short icon name.  E.G. P51D instead of P51.

Fixed a potential crash bug in the film viewer.

Arena setup variables are now arranged in different subgroups instead of one huge list.

Added in game support for special marketing offers.

Changed the mouse cursor to remove a one pixel edge that was present when anti-aliasing was used.

Changed the sound of pilot wounds.
Fixed a force feedback initialization bug.
Fixed some polygonal errors on the F2B and SBD.

Fixed an offline drone configuration bug.

This bug is back.

sometimes less is more,

Thanks for the cryptic comment, what I would really like is someone who makes the game to actually acknowledge that they are going to look into this. As it stands there is no point in me playing this game, to start relearning maybe 5 years of muscle memory then re learn it all over again in 3 months, no thanks. Done it last time and it screwed my flying up for months.

I mean its not as if it hasn't even been read, Skuzzy has actually moved it, does my joystick not working properly not fit under technical support.

Was that just the first time for the new version or does it happen every time with the new version?

Personally, if I'm looking for an answer, I email the source. Seems to work a lot better than just throwing the question out there and hoping.

It happened in the last major graphics update and was fixed, you can get some adjustment with FFB by enabling and disabling forcefeedback and switching arenas etc. The best I can describe it is that the stick goes into a standard profile like if you flew IL2 Sturmovik. The scaling is completely off as is the resistance in the stick.

It was fixed in 2.21 now its back.
