Aerial Victories

If an aircraft has its wheels on the ground and is shot then should the game award a victory?

Me, I'd like to see the landing message to include names.

"Billy Bob in a spit 1 shot down Lil' Joe in a 262, Goofy Guy in a 109, and...

Really, that would just make the Channel 200 conversations so much more interesting...

Listing the aerial victories vs. the ground victories separately would be nice too!

Maybe if you're in Fighter Mode, vulches don't count?  But they would count in Attack Mode?

I was just thinking that in the war true aerial victories were counted differently for the most part and that it might change the dynamic of the game slightly in the direction of promoting more combat and less score, err, what's the word?

Take it a step further and set a box around an airfield at a certain distance and alt.  Anything within the box would not count towards landed kills.  Can you imagine the decrease in 'so and so landed 97 kills in a Tempest" messages? :)

This is a really good idea, in my opinion.

'so and so landed 97 kills in a Tempest"

when was the last time you saw anyone land over 30 kills in a Tempest?

I think with the ever increasing ack and now the icon range changes to suit the GV ers,   vulching in the true sense of the word is becoming a lost art.  I also think defending bases especially in non prime time hours has become far too easy for guys who know what they are doing.

what we need are some grass airfields scattered around the map to provide something other than the whole kill the town 1 mile from base gameplay.  You have to Vulch to achieve aerial superiority (minus hangar banging)  take away that necessity then maybe it will alter the combat a little.  Giving defenders a closer place to roll and maybe give a fairer footing to engage the attackers of the main base.

Other ideas   increase buildings down to 1 hour and hangar respawn to 20 mins.  The base and town remains in whatever state when it was captured.

Increase troops in map room to 15.

If I fly a tempest the last place I will be is vulching. That savage vixen can get caught just as easily as anything else down on the deck, but she shines up in the clouds  :rock

I really like the idea of the box around the airfrield

Changing the awarded victories would not alter the base taking dynamic, you just wouldn't receive a victory if the opponent was still on the ground.

that reminds me of that great german fighter with 100's of victories who when told he only shoots people that were unaware he just grunted something and walked away.  in the war most kills were just picks of people that were unaware.

Twas an exaggeration :)

Anyone landing more then 5 I'm going to figure it was not air combat anyway

Semp the in a war comment nullifies it for this discussion as there is no actual risk for us.
