Twas an exaggeration :)

Anyone landing more then 5 I'm going to figure it was not air combat anyway

Semp the in a war comment nullifies it for this discussion as there is no actual risk for us.
But....I did 12 in the air on one clip of ammo in the A6M5 once......

Seriously though, this is a bad idea.  Ack huggers are already too common.  Don't make it so that they also deny you a kill.  Conversely, I want credit for killing a vulture when I up from a base under attack.

I dont know, I have loads of memories and some films of 2-3 hour sorties spanning 5-6 sectors and reaching quite high victories. Sorties that saw the ebb and flow of numerous missions, furballs and strategic plays from a vantage point of imagined realism. Flying home to rearm with a few scalps whilst plotting a cross country flight to get to a new fight with another refuel on the way. Those are some of the most exciting and immersive memories I have in from the main arena.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

just making a comment when somebody makes a reference thinking that back in the ware there was such thing as "honor" in the way some people think of it in aces high.  they would pick, run, ho, vulch do whatever it took to destroy airplanes and make it back alive to fight another day  :salute.

I like grass airfields, remote sites. Plenty of examples of this during the war. Maybe it comes with some limitations, like certain planes, or X amount of uppers at one time, easier to take these fields down.

For those horde efforts to take fields, they would not only have to cap a field, and take down the town, with this they would also have to take out a few remote strips. This would include first finding them, maybe icon range is 2k or so, then hitting them.

Maybe these remote strips are not found at every airbase, just as we have a few ports that have airfields, some bases do, some do not. And maybe before a base is captured all grass fields/remote strips have to be identified and destroyed.

I like this idea. +1

If an aircraft has its wheels on the ground and is shot then should the game award a victory?

Awarded a kill yes.  Is a victory a new category of score? :headscratch:

Didn't the 8th AF count kills on the ground as victories towards the end of the war?

I thought the system messages call it 'Victory'.

No carriers. But even if it had, if it wheels were on the deck, the SYSTEM would have surely not awarded a kill in the war  :old:

"didn't the 109T operate off a carrier or was it only in Norway?"

It was also used as a night fighter over Germany in Wilde Sau operations. Not sure how widely but I have seen it mentioned.
