Always enjoyed the landing at Kai Tak in Hong Kong with flying between the buildings, also Kathmandu looking at Everest in the distance.
Most of the others are just truck stops for planes.

Very neat. After you're airborn and assuming the glider pilot is flying properly, can you even tell it's there?

We tow with a 150/180. When he moves you feel it, especially when they want to box the wake.

Well maybe I should revise mine and give my 'real' favorite airports.

1) Sonoma Skypark - Started and finished my pilots license recently there.
2) Half Moon Bay - Nothing beats it on a nice sunny day.
3) Columbia, CA - Great for plane camping.

That reminds me, although San Jose is kind of a crap airport, it's an awesome view on climb out.  Circling up gives you a great view of San Francisco, Monteray Bay, and the mountains.  Landing at San Francisco can be a bit of trip coming in over the bay.

what is your top 5 airports that you enjoy traveling through? and whats your #1 most avoided airport?

Favorites:

1. Fairbanks International Airport (Alaska) <--- very clean, very quick at getting from the main entrance to the gate
2. Washington-Dulles International Airport (DC/N VA) <---- large airport, but i travleing from the main entrance to the gates is reliteivly simple
3. Salt Lake City International Airport (Utah) <----- easy to find gates.

Avoided: Atlanta-Hartsfield International <--- sucks

Agree w/ salt lake & Atlanta.

Last time I was at the Fairbanks airport, watched a big fat mouse running along the wall. Not among my favs

This one was fun, but a bit rough.  Would have been less concern with a tail-dragger.  About 700'x8'.

This one is huge by comparison.

Regan National, Washington DC

Hand flying the River Visual approach into DCA with a strong west wind and rolling out right on the money is one of the precious true stick and rudder moments you have in airliners. Circling to 33 when landing north is fun as well.

First time I rode that river approach, with the last min rollout to land, I was like, wtf?!? we crashing? as the people were down on the island and trails and looking up at us... and they weren't tiny... I used to go and watch panes land there once in a while too.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.

Favorite would be be Leadville, CO (KLXV).

The next three would be:   (not in order)
Block Island (KBID)
Groton (KGON) not sure what it is about this airport, always love touching down on RWY 23 there (been there only 3 or 4 times though)
Sedona (KSEZ)

MachFly saying leadville reminds me of KTEX (Telluride) another really neat airport.

The only airport that I try to avoid is O'Hare.

I quit flying United because of that God-forsaken place.

That is the Knik Glacier is the background...about 15 miles east of Palmer, Alaska.
