I look at stats here in AH like I do in football stats....in football, the only stat that accounts for anything in an end result is Points Allowed, and Points Scored.

In AH, that would translate in Deaths Allowed, Deaths Scored.

With the exception of the occasional bomber/c47 run, I fly the Spit IX and F4u exclusively.

When I fly the F4u:

I fly this plane when a squadmate and I are flying together using RogerWilco.  Its cannons are deadly, but it is so lacking in so many other areas that teamwork is really the key to success with it.  I seldomely take it into a situation where I am not starting out with some kind of advantage and am always aware of its shortcomings.  I've killed 67 planes with it and been killed 11 times in it.

In the Spitfire:

I'll take this plane into any battle at any time.  If a field is being vulched... I come up in this plane.  If a hord is incoming with alt... I come up in this plane.  It is simply one of the best multi-purpose planes in the arena (Jack of all trades master of none).  I can fly it with or without a wingman.  Its only real weakness is its limited 6 view.  I've gotten 112 kills with it and been killed 61 times in it.

The differences in my stats in the two planes is not attributed to the ultimate abilities of the plane, but rather to the technique I employ while flying each of them.  I've saved the base from capture more times in a Spit than in an F4u... I've saved the base from bombing more times in an F4u than in a Spit.  I just love having planes more suited to roles.

Interesting to note that the bus has 260 wins!

Why I got two kills in it against eager attackers.  And no I wasn't flying it like a fighter...purely strolling along close to the ground.

What is the source of this information?

Like any analysis, I would like to know what criteria were involved.

I find most of those numbers hard to believe considering the timeline of the war. I would expect most of the allied planes to rule while the axis were on the run and significantly outnumbered.

History is like the truth, it all depends on your POV coolie hat.

Simply pulled from kill stats on scoring page, looking at each plane separately against all other planes.
