Are you talking about the downloaded skins?  Those are *.res files.  You also need the "skin.res" file, which automatically downloads and installs whne you are connected to an online arena.

I just want to DL certian skins.  I can DL them into the skin file.  When i go into the hanger, they show that they are there but the skin of the AC will not change.  It shows the type of file is RES file (.res).   As open with: internet explore.

Happens with me too-- where did you download them from? Some of the ones on the HTC website don't work for me, but others do. Krusty has an updated skin catalogue.

The ones on our WEB site match exactly what is available in the game.  Again, you also need the "skins.res" file.   You only get that one when you are in an online arena for a bit.  It will be placed in the "skins" folder where the game is installed.

I have the skin.res file.   Each skin in the file shows that it opens with internet explore.  Should that be correct?

No.  res files are binary data and can only be opened with the game.

What is it you are trying to do?  You cannot alter a "res" file.

You might want to go into some detail here as I really cannot envision what you are trying to do.

You can download all the skins you want, but you can't use them until you go on line for a bit and the game downloads the "skin.res" file

So as long as you have been on line for a bit you should be able to use the skins. I f you can't then there is a problem. If you have NOT been on line there is no problem other than you NEED to go on line.

I think  :D
