Film viewer crashes
« on: March 19, 2012, 02:42:20 PM »
I received films from a squaddie so I could make a video for him, but every time I go to load the videos he sent the film viewer crashes.   I have tried to open them the last couple of days.  Has anyone had this issue since the last update?   Any advice?

The film viewer crashes for me everytime I try to use it also.  Hope they fix it soon.

Wondering if there is a way to re-install the film viewer without doing the game as well.

I have also just realized I cannot use mine. I often times go in once a week or so and view some things to figure out what went right or wrong during a sortie. Now I cannot hardly run it. Was this the last patch?

Technically films are good only for the Viewer version they were made with.
I can run films but my time counter didn't work. It still showed 00:01 after running about 30 seconds.

Not so. There is an issue with the time slider not moving while playing the film, but if you grab it and advance it it will move through the film, at least mine does.

Also, I have films from when Agent posted his as well as a bunch of P47 films Lepape2 posted over a year ago. Other than the time slider issue, all play fine.... well the ones I tested did  :D

I have several newer films that crash the film viewer. Don't know what's causing it. I have some films that were made in 05' that play fine & others that were made in the last year that crash. Go figure.

Same here Woody, although all of mine have been made in the past 3 months, and were working fine, a couple of weeks ago I noticed I could not play the new ones.

I recorded a few last night, and this morning when I went to view them, the film viewer crashes.   Does it have something to do with Windows 7?   I have never had this problem when I used XP.

I have Win7 64 and only have the issue with the time slider. Save your settings folder and the terrains folder and remove your desktop icon. Then do a new game install. You don't need to delete the game. After reinstalling move your saved folder back into the game folder and try it again.

You may have a corrupt file and the install over the old game should repair it. Moving the files back that you saved will save you the trouble of redoing the stick setting or re-downloading the maps again.

I have XP and some of mine are crashing

I loaded fraps and watched some of my films. The ones that crash drop down into single digit frame rate right before they crash. Never used to do that.

Last time this came up the fix was to delete the shortcut and to create a new one.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.
