Friendly Collision: ON
« on: March 23, 2012, 08:17:45 AM »
I think we should turn on Friendly Collision...would make things interesting, especially for our gang-tard friends. Prolly need to find a way to keep it turned off on the runway...and maybe 30 secs into flight?

Negatory.

I would routinely ram all the SAPP guys just to see how far they can really go on one engine  :aok

I don't mind in some ways, just like friendly fire... To often people fly in the way of someone firing to score a kill instead of flying smart. This is a game, but it is touted as a simulation, the primier WWII fighter simulation. Griefers, aka those that hit someone should be punished sitting in the tower or something I think. After a few instances (just like the muting of those who use foul language) then you cannot fly. Sit in the tower if you are being a jerk.

I've run some custom arenas with friendly collsions on. In the right setting with willing people, it adds another layer to the immersion. In the free-for-all mains it will not work well.

In large, organized events with registered participants who are aware of the setting, it might work, but is unmanagable when you consider the mass takeoffs, and the congestion of rearm pads. There is no way to turn it on or off based on if your in the air or on the ground, and when people can land and rearm anytime, it's a juggling act that anyone running the event cannot succeed with.

FA had friendly collisions on and it didn't cause as much griefing as you would think.  obviously turned off on the runway.

Nothing funnier than looking back as someone zooms in to steal another guys kill and watch them hit each other and explode behind you  :D

even better in AH because you get proxies

I would want the only people able to kill me being the bad guys and myself. In an FSO or a Scenario I could understand, and likely welcome, more realistic and punishing rules, but the MA is not the place, imo.
