If the forum rules were followed to a tee, 90% of the posts would be See Rule #2's or Rule #4's.
As it should be. I'm sick of the tomfoolery and shenanigans. I don't come here to have fun.

Speaking of which, sarcasm is most often a rule violation of #4 because how often is sarcasm not disrespectful in some light?

You are right tho, we need to change the culture, too many jokesters and tricksters in these parts.  Fun is the devil.

"Flamebaiting", "being disrespectful", "spamming", "posting to incite  or annoy"?  Those are catch-all rules.  Any post that is slightly annoying in any way is a rule violation if someone reports it.  If the forum rules were followed to a tee, 90% of the posts would be See Rule #2's or Rule #4's.

It's really just a potential violation if someone reports it. Whoever is moderating that post has to agree that it's a violation and also that the poster deserves to be sanctioned. The difficulty in writing precise rules that fit every occasion is why we give discretion to the people who have the burden of enforcement.

A high percentage of the posts on here could be interpreted as rule violations, which was my point.  The rules are extremely vague.

Or, they aren't enforced regularly, or they are vaguely enforced irregularly, or they are enforced vaguely.

HT doesn't read the boards. He has them read to him and then dictates his replies to a secretary with poor spelling.

Likely Siri is involved somehow as well.

"Siri, what do you think of HiTech?"   Siri: "I better leave that answer to you."  :)
