SB's being on top of a slope, are nearly invulnerable to level bombing, as near hits will do no damage.


This I think is the bigger issue imho currently, that or their toughness is just too much.  SBs are very tough, and an absolute b!@#$ to hit with level or anything but straight dive bombing.

I routinely take out shore batteries that are close to shore with a PT boat.

Sure it takes 1 minute longer than the 45 seconds it takes to down one with M4's rockets but it's still cake.

Probably have a film or two.

In the Pacific, the Japanese would routinely position their shore batteries and other big artillery so guns could fire at both maritime targets and targets on the invasion beach and inland.

Give SBs kill-shooter on friendly targets (players, AA, buildings).

Problem solved.

Then one guy hops in the SB and 1 shots the goon at map room.   Takes the dweeb 10 seconds to ruin 20 minutes of flying time.

yes ill make sure to clone myself and bring lancs to level it.    I prefer commando raids where the defenders stand a remote chance but would like them to have a little risk involved if they want to stop us. 

Maybe my next wish should be that gunners on the ground should count as victories for the plane or GV that kills them.    I just find people tower sitting all over the map when I play and it does anger me a little that they do not up and prefer to sit warm and snug in their gun and still manage to foil what was a well planned and executed attack with a small force.

You cannot seriously argue that SB's aren't put on the terrain to kill Ships otherwise every field on the map would have them perched over town!!!

I have mixed feelings about this. I'd be willing to make a trade off. Keep the SB's from firing on town but allow them full access to the  shore and full range of the water off of the base. There are many maps where the SB's don't cover squat.
