SB's firing on map rooms -1
« on: March 24, 2012, 05:16:14 PM »
Please improve the placement of Shore Battery's so they can be used for their intended purpose. (shooting at ships, not defending the field)

It is very annoying to, kill the VH,  de-ack the whole place,  drop the 1-2 wirbs that got out, kill the 3 extra 88mms,  save some ord for the supporting GV spawn,  maintain an aerial cap of the nearest enemy airfield AND HAVE TO DO the SB!!!

Then one guy hops in the SB and 1 shots the goon at map room.   Takes the dweeb 10 seconds to ruin 20 minutes of flying time.

and yes a whine has been recorded    :ahand

Next time lancs will be coming and we will do it the American way mark my words!  :old:

actually i wish the sb should actually work for what they were intended to do.  in ww2 sb had overlapping fields of fire.  the position of some sb makes them pretty much useless other than for shooting at the town.

If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

SB's being on top of a slope, are nearly invulnerable to level bombing, as near hits will do no damage.

Who says shore batteries are supposed to be easy to knock out?  I'm sure the guys landing at Omaha or Iwo Jima would have
been thrilled to discover that little factoid.

Those SB were covering the water and the beach (exactly what SB is supposed to do), not the town.

have no problem with the hardness just the placing.  Firing on friendly objects such as your own map room / town just wouldn't have been cricket.

I put this right up there with Zeros that used to flame for 2 minutes before dying,  (fixed to 3 seconds or so)
and  LVT's  spawning feet dry   (fixed for the most part  some maps still have a dry spawn but nowhere near as bad as before)

Didn't Hitler order the destruction of all German infrastructure and cities as one of his final orders after the German People failed him?

No need to play devil's advocate when it's a legitimate flaw.

I was actually pointing out why it may not be a 'flaw'... or maybe I completely misunderstood the term 'Devil's Advocate'.

It must have something to do with vTards.   :devil

I don't see a problem with the SB firing on the maprooms... heck, I feel ack should be increased, including man able ack in towns with many more 88mm/37mm/20mm guns in town and the field.

I'd like to see all shore batteries capable of covering all maprooms.
