On the one hand, that thing is too cool.  On the other, there's gotta be an easier way to commit suicide...  Although, you could make the case it would be a memorable way to do it.  :D

I didn't like the shifter either. Think I would have went with a paddle shift. The guy is definitely crazy to be driving out on the public streets. I kept waiting for a truck to pull out in front of him.

I loved it when the cop went past him going the other direction. He was hammer down after that lmao :rock

170 is BS. I doubt he even got to 100. I just hope that nobody else gets hurt when this idiot collects his Darwin Award.  :bhead

No he didn't get to 170 like the video advertised but from the looks and sound of that engine it would get there pretty quick. All that is, is a motorcycle engine on a gokart frame. Damned if I'd want to go that fast in the thing. Looks to me like it'd take flight or just plain come apart going that fast. You'd have to be nuts to even attempt it.

So from the looks, I doubt he broke 60...  and I had buddies with racing skooters that went 80+mph and were smaller than a razor scooter.  Those guys were nuts.

For the size though, that engine did sound nice and I dug the helmet cam.  Other than that...  my gokart me and my grandpa built when I was a youngster out a BnS engine riding lawnmower bored out that would do 35MPH without hurting nothing was the bomb...  :D

Not only did I learn to build stuff with my Papa, but I worked a paper route to buy the damn thing.  That's a real gokart.

I was guessing he did 70 or 80 maybe. Hard to tell sitting so close to the ground, speed looks deceiving. Whatever his speed was though, it was way too fast for where he was driving.  :old:

I'm guessing that he used the gauges that were in the motorcycle that he got the other parts from.   At times the needle was in the 12 O'clock position.  I didn't see it go much, if any farther than that.  70 or 80 mph seems like a resonable guesstimate.  While the kart is pretty sweet, that guy is a complete idiot.

Doubt he would every reach 170 even if the engine is capable.  Unless he put some major $$$$$$ into those tires, they would shred long before 170 MPH.  That is not even taking into account the handling and stability of the cart at that speed considering the short and narrow wheel base.  Sometimes it is just hard to overcome Physics.

I don't know about 170 mph, but 120 is quite possible and was the top speed at the track my Dad and I raced at up near Chehalis Washington. The average speed in the unlimited class was 105 mph. And yes those little tires do not last long at those speeds.

We both stopped racing when my Dad crashed and skidded along on his helmet for about 200 feet. He was able to push his finger through the remaining material on the top and sides of his helmet.

holy crap :O

can that thing even get off the water????

as far as the gokart I don't think it would reach 170, I rode a tiny one that went 40mph,  that was more then fast enough when you are 2 inches of the ground.
