Over. The. Hill.
« on: April 06, 2012, 02:55:04 AM »

Hey, if you knew everything I went thru to look like this at my age, you would be impressed. In Las Vegas, casinos just lost a bundle on the Over/Under. Unfortunately, I had big money on the Under.
Technically that's considered a push.

The miles I've traveled and the things I've seen/done over the years... Sitting in Granddad's lap driving the old Farmall tractor. Turning the TV antennae to watch a blacked out Cowboys game. The first color TV I ever saw. Listening to an AM DJ while driving thru the middle of Wyoming that had barricaded himself in the studio and was playing Pink Floyd followed by Bob Wills followed by Led Zepplin followed by Marty Robbins. Meeting Bob Wills. Riding on a Wein Air Alaska flight while the pilot played Peg O' My Heart on harmonica over the PA and rocked the wings in time at 30,000ft. Chopping down an oak tree with a Shelby Charger. (I don't recommend that last one, btw.) Duck and cover. Apollo 11. Chicken Man (He's everywhere! He's everywhere!). Icky Twerp & Slam Bang Theater. Captain Kangaroo. Mr.Peppermint. Pong. Ringside seats at The Sportatorium to see Fritz Von Erich vs Blackjack Mulligan. Hippies. Laugh In. LaBella & Rody on the Morning Zoo...

What a long strange trip it's been.

And to all you kids out there, screw you! I saw all the good bands live!
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Haha! Slambang Theater was the best show when I was a kid. I lived for Saturday mornings. Heck I'd even make do with Davie and Goliath on Sunday mornings. Dang rpm your post brought back an avalanche of memories; thanks man!

Well big ol' happy birthday to ya. I have to say, the Shelby tree trim might have affected you some, duck and cover was the 50's from what I recall. I do recall Chicken Man though, lmao.  :D

Happy Birthday RPM.

The good old days ! Saturday morning cartoons with real cartoons! Bugs, porky, Tweety and Silvester. When Hot rods were hot rods, when you had more rubber on a single rear tire than they have on 4 these days, when exhaust pipes connected directly to the headers and seat belts were only needed at the track.

I walked up and asked if it could run.
200 pairs of eyes nailed me hard an the guy says it could bury anything I was drivin.

Well.

Told him I polished up the tail lights on my lil Belvedere just for him.

Some nights were just 'golden' yanno?

He backed out when he found out my 'lil Belvedere'

It was a great summer.

So many good times .. I swear it feels like gremlins snuck up an stole 40 years.. no way all that time has passed.
