If this is true I may have to re-subscribe sooner than I had originally anticipated.

I prefer to sim with adult WW2 and aviation enthusiasts and just generally decent and honorable people.  AH was turning into a childs playground largely inhabited with prepubescent gangster wannabes and disgruntled middle aged alcoholics.

Jesus that sounds rough and it probably is a little bit embellished with some genuine  disappointment on my part but thats about how Ive been seeing AH progress for the last several months and especially the past few weeks.

I hope things level off and mature quickly here in the near future.

Just *my* take on things.

It seems to me.. And I hesitate to post in this "soap opera" type thread..that this is entirely the business of HTC and nathBDP.

I don't like to see anyone "banned".

However, there does come a time when some behaviors are simply beyond ANY reasonable limit and far more than you can expect the proprietor of a business to simply "take" and keep on "taking".

Finally, HTC's last raw nerve had enough, I guess.

I "had it" a while ago. First, I automated a 10 player "squelch list". Finally I just decided to squelch CH1; it was easier than updating the list.

Perhaps now that we're all aware that there are limits, we can get back to playing the game instead of listening to that drivel. Maybe CH1 will "clean up" a bit.

You want to know what the limits are? LOL!

You ALREADY know what the limits are. Your parents, your teachers and your society have taught you the limits. You KNOW this is true.

Why would you think you can continually badger the owners and say things here that would get you tossed out of any business anywhere?

Yet some folks, for whatever reason ... ego, personality, deviltry, "obnoxiousness" ...., will continually push far beyond the limit.

The standard just common POLITENESS. If you need a definition of that, I feel sorry for you.

If you can't be "commonly polite" I hope you wake up before you end up as the star in a thread like this one.

Still wondering what's acceptable?

Try one of these two "limits":

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Or my favorite

"I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them."

Who'll be next? I'd guess some d*mn fool that is also devoid of common decency and politeness that fails to see that HTC (and a large part of the player community) has finally had enough of this infantile behavior.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

It's not about losing one subscriber, it's about 1 subscriber's conduct causing the loss of new subscribers.

I can't comment on this particular issue because I'm not active enough in the community to do so, but I'll tell you this;

It's not always about money. It's about dignity. If your willing to be abused just because someone is sticking $30 in your pocket - your a potato.

I'd personally rather sleep in the street.

Have to jump in...

Was on-line when Nath was running his mouth, as he has done innumerable amounts of time.  Didn't know towd at all but this Nath guy was just taunting and 'daring' HiTech to ban him, til he finally got what he wanted.

And its all pretty pathetic on Nath's part.  What was a good Q & A session between HiTech and customers became the Nath-is-an-ass show.  To those of us with even the greatest sense of humor, his behavior was way over the top.

As far as I am concerned, HiTech has shown vastly more patience than I would have had.  Once Nath was punted out, the noise level dropped immensely.  Its really too bad to ban any paying customers but when the disagreement turns personal and ignorant, off the plank you go.

Sorry, the guy had it coming, if you were there, you read the whole saga.  He pushed and shoved to get banned, and his wish has been granted.  And havng the guy gone has already improved my on-line experience

Its nice to know HTC isnt going to tolerate these childish users any longer, and while I am sure it'll be controversial, I think it will be all for the better.

I think it's more a 'cleaning house' kind of deal.

HTC has been very leinent with abusive customers and at this point, they are hurting the image of the company. So it's time to crack down on those who haven't learned to hold their tongues.

Example:

I encountered a P38, Yak, F4U, and 190 today alone while defending a base in my 109F4. All were higher then me. I merged with the F4U who had dived to me and split-s'ed back into him. We met again at the 2nd merge and I HOed him. Didn't look like he took any damage, and I disengaged from the fight because of my obvious poor position.

The pilot then commenced to call me a 'skillless face-shooting dweeb' on channel 1 for 5 minutes, even as I sat and smiley-faced him with jokes about why I did it. If my sense of humor or restraint was any different, it would have been another flame war on chan 1. (and HT was in attendence, answering questions at the time too) You can bet someone would have been muted.

Seems like everyone can be abusive when they're hiding behind a screen.

Gave me a smile when he crashed 10 minutes later and I got the kill.

(Sorry Midnight for this morning btw. I was in a crummy mood and so I HOed your P51 with my first CHog sortie in a month and a half, then shot your chute for Dingers contest. *That* was a dweeb thing to do, no doubt about it)
