WWI, the WWII buckles would of had a swastika on them.

edit: I'm hardly the historian some of the gents on here are. Take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Based on the other bit, I'm guessing Wiemar Republic time frame post WW1 and before the German Army swore their oath to old Dolf.

Thinking about it some more, so far all seems to point to the house where this stuff came from was probably of an old soldier who made the transition from the post-war German Army to the German Army of Nazi Germany.  Mementos of his time in service

Found it!  Not exact, but similar in that it's a water cooled MG used for anti aircraft and the model 1916 helmets still in use.  Dated 1935
