How would having a map rolled six times a day be as bad as having the same hordes roll the map out of existence in a few hours? At least most people would then get a chance to play on the small maps they like.
It wouldn't be as bad at all. It would just be a difference. Playing on the right side, it would mean I'd be able to roll a set of B29s about as often as I contemplate rolling a set of B29s for free, with no bombing outside of that.
Not sure what that means, just saying the amount of 'free' perks floating around the game would have the potential to skyrocket.
Also, aren't there small maps that many (possibly the majority?) really aren't fond of?
Tough call. There's a subset of people on the forums that get mightily sick of Trinity. I'd suspect there are probably similar numbers for some small maps who would get irate if a map they don't like stayed for a day through multiple resets. They're silent now because they generally only have to put up with them for 4 hours at a time before they're rolled off.
