Carrier Capable B25Cs
« on: April 19, 2012, 06:05:20 PM »
Yesterday being the anniversary of the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo, how about allowing the B25c to be launched from a carrier? I realize the B25b was used in the raids, but since all we have is the c model, that should suffice.

It would be nice to have some real bombers that could up from a CV like the B25, maybe just singles though +1

Singles might be the only way it would work since it's hard enough sometimes just to get a single fighter plane off the deck.

You fail to realize that "real" bombers didn't take off and land and CVs.  The Doolittle Raid was a one off affair not repeated again during the war.

The B-25 should not be enabled to take off of CVs.

Since I can actually hear the B-25's that showed up for the 70TH anniversary buzzing about here in Urbana Ohio as I type. One time special event per year on the anniversary date that is it.

TBM-3 is superior to the B-25B as flown off of a carrier.  Use it.

You can already do this in a custom arena. You can even set wind for the CV to sail into. You could name the arena "Doolittle Raid".

I've flown one of the B-25's (not sure which model) off of a carrier. It's a challenge just like in RL.

No, I realize that ack, I just think it would be nice to have B25's available in single's off CV's, just my opinion of course  :aok

I never said they were able to land on carriers, but they did make a historic raid in real life. I wouldn't expect them to land on a cv under my scenario, but they could try. I've heard of others landing bombers on cvs as it already is. Either that, or they could head back to the fleet and ditch.

Just thought it might be a fun option.

Any regulars in Midwar could tell you I do use the TBM, quite often. Just thinking of something different, and the TBM is a better plane defensively, as far as I'm concerned.

I think at one point the P-39D and B25c were enabled to take off from the cv. but that was a couple of years ago.

That was because they had just been added, and HTC had forgot to disable them from carrier use
