the 10 people that want night can go in their own arena, and set their brightness to max to cheat each other  :neener:

and we may have some plane models like the bf110 and the mosquito that flew at night, but not in their night capable version.

I've been here going into my third year. I remember flying a night hop once. It was aweseom. Everything was darker (shocking, I know) with icon range down to 3.0, if I remember correctly. When the new Me-410 makes its introduction they should do some night time flying.

juhu you got the point, a arena were night is on. Cheat each other, lol im sure thats an old leagend from some screamers geting shoot down in night time. i think only a few will rise the whitness of thair monitor to maxx, cant imagine that these chaters will have fun with that for mor than 2 flights.

you say ju88a4 never flew at night, or a 190 or a 109, or c47, or a stork....
have you ever read something about nightfliing and combat in wwII you dont need a radar to fly at night.

*snrk* ^ This.

Chris, you can go into display settings and lower your gamma til it's dark enough for you.  Poof!  Instant night!  And, it will be just the same as when they make it nighttime and people raise their gamma so they can see and y'know... actually fight instead of flying around in the dark looking for tracers.

Wiley.
If you think you are having a 1v1 in the Main Arena, your SA has failed you.

A very playable nighttime is something easily done, but takes time to find the right combination of colors and brightness. I've spent lots of time in the Custom Arenas and offline to come up with what I think is a real nice and very playable effect. You will not see it in the Mains because very few players would enjoy it. The best solution is to create a custom arena - you can use ANY terrain in the list (not just MA terrains). Advertise on the BBS and maybe in-game that your arena will be up at such-and-such a time on whatever day you choose.

For like-minded players who would like to experience it, this is the best choice and can be done anytime you want.

when we had the night fighting, i really fast found out that most people that stayed adjusted their gamma so the night would turn into day.   those who didnt, ended up dead really fast.

we really never had a night except for the noobs that didnt know how to adjust the gamma.  so do the oposite, you want to fly night then adjust your gamma to make it darker.  because i can guarantee you that the rest of us will be adjusting the gamma to see better and if we cant, then we will log.  just like it happened before.

I used to enjoy the brief nights. You had to use your instruments a little more and radar helped you find targets. It was a nice change from the usual. I never adjusted my monitor and I got kills in the dark.
