The first few games of that series were a goon fest.  Shanahan is worse than Campbell was as league disciplinarian.

That said, it was nice to see the crybaby Crosby sent packing.

Are you old enough to remember what a real goonfest is all about?     :D

I'm a Penguins fan, but bravo to the Flyers. They out-played us and deserve to move on. Rooting for Boston now, but if they lose game 7 I'll be a Flyers fan for the remainder of the playoffs  ;)

I remember much of that and I also played competitively long enough to see the game transform is so many ways to realize that it is not the game of the past either.  The game is much faster now and the protective gear so much better, that changing the game to protect players was the smart thing to do.

But hey, since certain people acted like thugs back in the seventies makes it ok to act like a thug today, right?

Devils down 1 :D Good overall game, what a rocket by Giroux. Flyers were not hitting
the Devils. No huge checks. Think both teams know how physical it's gonna get by game 3.
Elias is the biggest threat, if they can't take him out, it'll make things easier.
GO FLYERS :aok

Bryz still has to realize that Sykora is still a major threat, especially one-on-one.  He really took him to school on that break-away goal.  Almost a rookie mistake, letting it go through the 5-hole, especially with the laser-guided shots that Sykora is still able to make.  He also does not have the puck-handling skills that Brodeur has and needs to stay in the crease.  That score by Elias should have never happened.

Looks like Briere was bound and determined to get a tie-breaker, though  :D

It was a very exciting game, that's for sure  :aok
